Monastery Blog

In addition to my blog on this the main page, which mainly consists of more formal posts, I have created a more personal daily blog which can be accessed by clicking on the monastery link to your right in the About Me box.
The "monastery blog" consists of briefer postings and is where I share in real-time the latest news, on-goings, lessons, experiences and insights in my personal ACIM journey.

Your understanding and explanation of the course has REALLY helped me learn it so much faster than I would have on my own. I have to tell you, I live in a remote area and often wish I had even a single friend who studied The Course in Miracles so I would have some company along the way. Your blog, especially reading your monastery blog this morning, feels like that friend........ like good company. I want you to know how much that means to me. God bless you for what you're doing.

I plan on attending one of Dr. Wapnick's workshops in Temecula later on this year, I hope I can meet you there and shake your hand.

Co-Founder of the Foundation for A Course in Miracles (FACIM), and principal teacher for the Institute for Teaching Inner Peace through A Course in Miracles (ITIP-ACIM), the accredited teaching arm of FACIM. Sits on the Executive Board of the Foundation for Inner Peace (FIP), original publishers of A Course in Miracles.

Kenneth Wapnick received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1968 from Adelphi University. He was a close friend and associate of Dr. Helen Schucman and Dr. William Thetford, the two people whose joining together was the immediate stimulus for the scribing of A Course in Miracles. For two years, Ken closely assisted Helen in the lengthy process of editing the Course. During this time, the same Voice which dictated A Course in Miracles to Helen, indicated to her that Ken would be its teacher.

Ken has been involved with A Course in Miracles since 1973, writing, teaching, and integrating its principles with his practice of psychotherapy. A teaching virtuoso, he continues to offer near-monthly workshops at the Foundation for A Course in Miracles in Temecula, California. For more than 30 years, in the most loving and expert way imaginable, he has helped thousands of Course students deepen their understanding of its thought system, both conceptually and experientially.

FACIM has evolved into a teaching institute with an Electronic Outreach program. The main center in Temecula is home to workshops, seminars and classes given through its ITIP-ACIM teaching arm. Teaching staff: Dr Kenneth Wapnick, Dr Rosemarie LoSasso, & Dr Jeffrey Seibert.

FACIM is also involved in various publication and distribution activities, notably the past development of an exhaustive concordance, continuing oversight of the ACIM Translation Program, the production of audio and video recordings of lectures by Dr. Wapnick, as well as the editing, publishing, and non-English translation of his books.

FACIM Vision Statement: To help students of A Course in Miracles deepen their understanding of its thought system, conceptually and experientially, so that they may be more effective instruments of the Holy Spirit's teaching in their own lives.

A Course in Miracles is published exclusively by the Foundation for Inner Peace (FIP), the not-for-profit organization chosen by Dr. Schucman for this purpose.

Originally founded in 1972 by Judith and Robert Skutch, the foundation changed their name to the Foundation for Inner Peace in 1975 to better reflect their purpose of publishing the Course.

Today, in collaboration with their sister organization, FACIM, the foundation is also responsible for the A Course in Miracles Translation Program, a vast undertaking established in 1982. Currently, official translations are completed in 17 language versions, with more in development.

On the evening of October 21, 1965, the now familiar voice of Jesus said to Helen: "This is a course in miracles, please take notes." Troubled, she immediately called Bill, and he reassured her that she was not going mad. He suggested she write down what was being dictated to her, and that he would look at it with her early the following morning at the office. Helen did just that, and the scribing of A Course in Miracles began.

The staff of FACIM provides a 1200+ and growing online library of Questions and Answers as part of their Electronic Outreach program. This extensive repository, edited for content by Dr. Kenneth Wapnick, offers students of any level profound clarification of both the metaphysics and practical application of Course principles.

The Lighthouse is a free quarterly newsletter published by FACIM. The online archive spans 15 years and contains some 50 feature articles written by Dr. Kenneth Wapnick, while the excerpt series is a collection of excerpted works from several of his numerous books and workshops.

A Course in Miracles has sold over 1.8 million copies worldwide, been translated into 17 languages which account for over 90% of the world's population, while known study groups number well into the thousands and populate over 50 countries.

While A Course in Miracles is a self-study path, nowhere within the Course does it speak about forming study groups. Rather, its focus is always on joining with Jesus or the Holy Spirit, in the mind, asking Their help to perceive differently our seemingly external relationships. An ACIM study group, like anything else, would provide the opportunity to do this, meaning it would be no more or less spiritual than any other "classroom" or situation one would enter throughout the day.

There are thousands of study groups all over the world. The websites below (Miracle Distribution Center, Course in Miracles Forum, Community Miracles Center, and Miracles Study Australia) have compiled extensive listings of groups in your corner of the globe.
