BETWEEN NOTHING AND NOTHINGNESS
.
a penniless pauper
i come begging
empty-handed
your quiet Smile
makes my eyes glisten
with hate
in my return to the desert
i find only scattered bones
bleached by an unforgiving sun
how bleak and barren
this inglorious
dry-mouthed search for sin!
burning desolate desolation
cracks and sears my soul
exposing each parched empty promise.
every wisp of hope disappears
and is utterly abandoned
along with my self
and now i lay
atop this mountain
of hollow bones
and in the emptiness above
is your memory, the wings
between nothing and nothingness
your quiet Smile
makes my eyes glisten
with love
a penniless pauper
i come smiling
empty-handed
