A few of the highlights from this wonderful class:
I really enjoyed the metaphors used — scurrying, spiders, locking our doors… My daily life takes on new meaning as I learn more and more what it is I am doing ‘behind the curtain’ — particularly the discussion on defenses. I can see a little more clearly how I am literally burying myself in them. A few more ‘ego tricks’ have been exposed. And that’s the good news!!
• “Accepting What Is” is looking at what’s going on in our mind… not in the world. Acceptance is not judging our judgements.
• We can’t keep guilt hidden. Denial doesn’t work. Projection doesn’t work. Blissninniehood doesn’t work. Stuffing down our fears doesn’t work. The ego’s atonement does.not.work. The ego’s atonement is fixing up the world to give you peace. It.does.not.work.
• Defenses are meant to protect us from fear. But every time that we enact our defenses we’re stating that the fear is real and we need protection from it, which makes us more fearful. We then strengthen our defenses, which again strengthens our belief in fear. You spiral deeper and deeper into fear. Instead, we would want to return to our mind to learn the fear isn’t real.
• Looking at your ego without judgement is what it means to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, or Jesus. So if you want a relationship with Him, look at your ego with Him.
Many thanks for the questions submitted and answered — I loved them all.
Love,
Mother
