Class summary: Discussion of our intense fear of letting go of our identity. Outlining the process of exposing the purpose of our defenses. Making progress through looking honestly (with Jesus) at how we desire to take things here seriously, before we are able to lighten up and not take them seriously. Becoming aware of elusive defenses such as pretending and worldly or ego-based happiness. Selfishness and the ego. Discussion on the difference between indulging the ego in order to let it go (helpful), rather than in order to keep it (unhelpful). How to determine whether we are in our right or wrong minds. Using symbols to lead us to source.
