Class: The Tiny Throb
Class summary: Discusses the “tiny throb” (lesson 182) we all feel for God. A section-by-section discussion of Lesson 182 “I will be still and instant and go home.” Seeing the emptiness of the world and initiating the death of our specialness — the monk shares recent experiences while walking in the cold mountain air. Welcoming the darkness; how to make our way through the darkness with Jesus. Examining our endless search for something we will never find. Why we should have faith that the process we have begun will see us through. How to find peace in this world. A discussion of the branching of the road, and what to do when we reach that point. Insight into why we glorify past events, call them holy, or try to recapture them. What all of our tears are truly expressing.
Time of class: 1:57:57
Monk note: Bonnie writes the class summaries, but I wanted to add… she plays the entire Cavatina by Beethoven (monastery music #2) at the end of this class, and it is beautiful! Thank you, Bonnie!
Bonnie performs Cavatina from Quartet #13 (Beethoven).
