FACIM D1: Fusty Nut Behind the Wheel

acim monastery bus[8:55am] Getting off to a late start this morning. The new Oratory page (home of my class recordings) was completed late last night but after an hour-and-a-half on the phone with tech support there is still a problem that can only be resolved by my security guy. It should be done by the time I get to Temecula.

As I head for Kenville this weekend it will be nice to stop giving security updates, and provide you with an actual blog post of substance. Thanks again for your (infinite?) patience.

The monastery bus and another inner journey awaits.

[10:27pm] All safe and sound (well, that second bit is debatable) in Temecula. The drive was very long: almost 9 hours. The traffic once in California was boggling. At one point, about eight hours into the journey, I can’t be certain but I think I heard the driver of the monastery bus get a little fusty and mutter something along the lines of “goddamn California traffic.” So far this epithet remains unsubstantiated, snd since it’s not on the record, nothing can be proven. Oh wait.

I think the first omen that it would be a long trip occurred about a minute after I was on the road. I got stuck behind a slow-goin’ cowboy wearing a big ol’ cowboy hat (that’s how I knew he was a cowboy) on a motorcycle. His wife was in the side car. (Goggles? That would be ‘yes’.) I’ll never be able to understand how the hat didn’t blow off, — I was mesmerized! — but if I had to wager a guess it might have been due to the fact that he was, driving, oh, I don’t know… 15mph!

In a bit of nice timing, the new Oratory page was completed sometime during my nine hour odyssey. This is where all my classes are going to be housed. If you’d like to subscribe, you can do so by visiting the monk e-business page. I will be putting up another free excerpt before long now that this big project is completed.

The title of tomorrow’s workshop is: The Special Relationship: “A Fusty Nut With No Kernel”. I’m half expecting a cowboy with a big hat to sit in front of me. Look out for the fusty nut then!
