Monk Mail
With the re-opening of the monastery comes a new feature for monklings everywhere. Monk mail! Now you can have your own personal “@acimmonk.com” email address. It’s meditative. It’s monasterial. It’s akin to picking up your robes! (See picture, left, for body language and look on one’s face immediately after picking up their robes.)
Anyone who has subscribed to the Oratory, purchased a class, a Monk Mentoring session, complimented one of my blue shirts, or has contributed to the Alm’s Bowl in the past (or before June 21st) gets to immediately choose their email address, if they want one. This is done as a thank you and to give first options on name-choosing.
On June 21st, the first day of summer, I will open them up to anyone, anywhere, anytime, for any reason. Anyhow…
If you would like one, please send me your preferred username (e.g. jamieofthemists@acimmonk.com) and I will set it up immediately. Once it is set up you can log in and change your password. You can access your email account via webmail, or by any normal email program (Outlook Express, Windows Mail etc.) on your computer.
I will send you an email describing how to access webmail (super easy: webmail.acimmonk.com) and how to set up your email in Outlook Express / Windows Mail (and will include the server information that is required for all email softwares), but please understand I am unable to trouble-shoot everyone’s email setup issues (unless your username/password isn’t working — if that happens contact me and we’ll fix it). If you have questions please consult the much-victimized computer expert in your family. You know they always appreciate hearing from you.
My new webhost is one of the best on the internet, and I am signed up for three more years, so you can feel assured that this can be a reliable and longterm email address if you’d like it to be. Once created, it will be around (barring any unforeseen internet weirdness) as long as there is an acimmonk website. Note: You don’t need this email address to post whispers or access anything on the site. It is the same as a normal stand-alone email address.
New Monastery email addresses are ready to go, so if you’d like your robes, please see the monk at the table just outside the vestry.
