The Grotto: Nuns Gone Wild
The Grotto here at the Monastery of the Mists needs a proper introduction for those who might be visiting it for the first time.
A monastery is a place of great formality and seriousness. Of deep metaphysical contemplation and discussion. And above all reverence. Don’t forget the reverence. Yes, these are what you will find here in the Grotto. In abundance.
That, and missing socks, overturned bottles of pomegranate juice, a tree-house, and one very dazzling Pool Boy.
Amongst other things.

Good morning Monk.

January 9th, 2010 at 9:04 am
Welcome home, Monk! I guess you noticed we filled up the 2nd grotto while you were out. You don’t need to look at what’s happening in there now, because we aren’t doing anything – it’s just the raccoons. We’ll see you later. Hope your hike to the top of the mountain reigned glory on your heart. Love, Katrina

Hi Annie, Donna, Katrina, and everyone. :)

January 9th, 2010 at 10:36 am
Katrina, I love the picture. Now we something to blame everything on. Very convenient. ;-))
January 9th, 2010 at 10:43 am
Wait till Tex/Can sees that kitty…she is gonna flip!
Great photo, really captures the essence of the grotto shenanigans. It’s good their knee pads aren’t showing. Katarina you have been wonderfully playful lately…I just want you to know I had joined in on the toe tapping you started a few days ago and even though the monk has returned I can’t seem to stop!
Happy Saturday everyone…or Sunday for our down under friends.
Hugs, Annie

Ha! Finally someone to blame the tricks and pranks on besides Mother… Wonderful picture Katrina!! Brilliant of you to have captured the ‘criminals’ around here!! I’m guessing the one in the middle is the ring leader.. I can tell by the eyes…
Monk, it’s so nice to see you whispering amongst us again… welcome home. And thank you so very much for our new Grotto!!! We love you so much, and are grateful for all the hard work you put in to creating this place we have here. We appreciate it ever so much!! Please make yourself at home… careful to look before you sit on a chair.. anything can happen!
Love to all,
Mother

Way to go DD!!! – Love the cat picture – Welcome to our hearts, Sister Mary Catnip!! {{So – give it up, where’s the stash?}}
January 9th, 2010 at 1:12 pm
I ain’t givin’ up nuttin’… (ahem… meet me later behind the treehouse….)
January 9th, 2010 at 1:16 pm
Fanfares from the Tree-House!!! there he comes, our so-lon-gone Monk! Brother Smalln’helpful is rising his baton(right word???) AND the small-monks quartet starts playing Beethoven’s 15th quartet… in their cute white rabbit-costumes – look at Brother Cute’n Quick at the viola, moving his ears in synch with the music – here, sit down dear Jamie, gluh-wine and almonds…here’s a bear-skin too -
(soooo nice to see you again, dear)…
(and afterwards, if you would like to, you might to want to spontaneously allow a poem to come through you – no expectations of course -
(finds a bear-skin and slips into it herself, blushing at her straightforward suggestion, taking big gulp of gluh-wine)
January 9th, 2010 at 5:17 pm
Ya’ll!
I was trying to be all serious up in here!
And now the Cat pic ~ lol ~
January 9th, 2010 at 5:24 pm
I didn’t want to say anything, but, uh,
somebody has been lighting cigars with the votive candles again….
And WHAT is with the “catnip?”
*ahem*
January 9th, 2010 at 5:30 pm
Winnie, I never thanked you for the heart felt prayer on behalf of The Pittsburgh Steelers. They won that game, but I forgot to mention that other teams had to lose in order for them to get in the playoffs. Us Steeler fans are kind of lost, we are used to being in the playoffs every year. So, I am rooting for the Dallas Cowboys because monk loves them like I love my Steelers. You might say one of those special tree house prayers for them, they are playing tonight. I think they are going to be the Superbowl champs, and I’m not kissing the bosses but. :)
January 9th, 2010 at 6:17 pm
GO COWBOYS!
January 9th, 2010 at 6:47 pm
“somebody has been lighting cigars with the votive candles again….”
and someone has been lapping , yes lapping, the holy water too -- dang raccoons and puddy tats ..
……
Dear God,
please please pretty please will you let the Dallas Cowboys win tonight and if you do i promise not to eat lollies for at least a day, which is very big of me AND i will let the small monks have the run of the Treehouse for two solid weeks
your very special friend

Katrina…the raccoon pic is hilarious. Thanks for giving me a big laugh. What pops
into the head is the song, Rocky Raccoon. But these masked creatures look like they might be Cowboy fans. Put cowboy hats on them and what have you got? The Lone Rangers!
Rocky and Ranger went out to the football game.
Seems they were shadowed by a stranger without a name.
When they yelled “first and ten,” the stranger yelled, “jump ball!”
“Let’s lose him,” said Rocky, “he doesn’t know this game at all.”
The stranger continued to get on their nerves.
He scampered and bolted when he should have swerved.
He ate all the popcorn and hot dogs from under the seats,
and made a spectacle of himself, got tangled among the cheerleaders’ feet.
Rocky and Ranger were having pretty good antics,
Till the stadium police fingered them as bandits.
That’s when the cheerleader came rushing up with the stranger,
“I’ll take them, Officer, they’re kin to my new retriever.”
Some days it’s a good thing to be flexible.
January 9th, 2010 at 7:58 pm
Oops! Sorry Texas… I thought those little things were gifts from the Small Monks.. you know how cigar’s have to be constantly re-lit. Hells Bells. They’re freakin everywhere.. and so of course, I thought they were for ME!! Catnip? What Catnip?
Nice poem (again) T.S. Laura – All I can remember about Rocky Raccoon is something about Gideon’s Bible.. LOL
January 9th, 2010 at 10:08 pm
Catnip? Today’s reading brought up the development of Trust. Now, we’re talking catnip? Is that catnip vs. trust, or will an increase in catnibinoids engender trust. You be the judge — oh, wait — let’s just look and ask for guidance.

Don’t look now but I think someone has nabbed my pink bunny ears…
January 9th, 2010 at 11:32 pm
Winne, the cowboys won, thanks to your special connection. And they say you can’t petition the lord with prayer. You can have all the lollies you want! Thank you luv for trying to fix my mistake for me, that was nice. If you left click on the address at the bottom of my whisper you can see my wife Sharon and I at the Steelers, Ravens game. We won, and it was the first time in over 30 years that I went to a game!
I am going to attempt to post another picture, wish me luck! It is of our 4 kids, Corey, Kaitlyn, Terra and Shauna. I thought I would name them in the off chance I actually do it right!
God bless us everyone
January 9th, 2010 at 11:44 pm
Mother, I need Help! It says: 5. Paste the DIRECT LINK TO IMAGE address into the proper field here at the Cloister. (i.e. Paste it in the blank field that appears after you click: “Add an image to your whisper by clicking here.”) Help! I never get a blank field, after clicking add whisper. I am sure it is something easy I am missing, but for the life of me I don’t know what.
This is why I don’t have a gallery yet. If anyone wold like to met my family, you can left click the address in #28, and if you would like to see my wife Shron and I left click address in #19. I thank you for your spport.
God bless us everyone
January 10th, 2010 at 12:34 am
Hi Lawrence, here is the picture of the “Add an image to your whisper by clicking here” (clicking here is underlined, so just one click should open another SMALL window, which is the 2nd picture below). Hope this helps! If not maybe try using a different web browser and see if that helps,
Love Mother
Picture one shows where you click ONCE ONLY on “click here”,
Then paste the Image Shack “Direct Link” in the resulting window that looks like this:
January 10th, 2010 at 12:49 am
The result should be that your whisper now has a line in it that looks like this: Note the ‘img’ and ‘/img’ in brackets on either end…
And THEN you click “Submit Whisper”

I loved the picture of you and your Sharon dressed up and all!!!
January 10th, 2010 at 8:53 am
I tried this last night but the connection went out again. Seems to be working now.
January 10th, 2010 at 10:54 am
Pam! Yeah, Rocky Raccoon revisited! Thanks for posting it…haven’t heard this song
in a coon’s age. :) Makes a person wonder, though, about Gideon’s story? Possibly,
I feel a poem coming to the surface. Okay, okay, (thinks better of it) I hear those groans…:) Maybe Gideon needs to remain a mystery or simply go back to free bible distribution.
Hugs! LTS

Lawrence~ Love the pics of you, your wife Sharon and all your kids!!! You all look related. The cool thing about having a gallery is you can just send an email to Jane-admin with the pics attached and she’ll put them up for you.
January 10th, 2010 at 1:35 pm
Lawrence, loved the picture of your children. There is a certain depth that Corey exudes that invites knowing. Beautiful family.
January 10th, 2010 at 1:38 pm
Beautiful family, Lawrence.. thank you so much for sharing your heart with us…
Love,
M.
January 10th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
Lawrence, what a beautiful family!! It is so nice to see you all. Many hugs, DD.
January 11th, 2010 at 10:47 am
I was surprised to see my pictures show up. I thank you whoever your are, for that! I thought maybe Mother or Monk or Jane-Admin or Emm, but whoever it is very much appreciated. Jane I hope to be sending pictures this weekend, thank you all for all you do.
Nina, I am glad you liked the picture of Sharon and I. Yes we were all dressed up; most everything I had on was a Christmas gift. The kids got tired of dad not wearing anything that had a name brand or number, picture etc.
Michele, thanks for the kind words. I will have a gallery, I will have a gallery, I will have a gallery.
Leni, when Corey was born I thought we we going to loose my wife. She had natural chidbirth and I was her coach and was there for all the births. And, from the time he was a baby to about 4 years old he would sleep walk and talk gibberish, or so it seemed. When he got a little older he told us he couldn’t wait to be born, cause no one could understand him. There is a depth to him for sure, we are very close, all of us. And from day one I tried to teach them we were all the same, and so far that is how they live, pretty much.
Mother Superior sharing my heart among such a group is a God send. Everyday I learn a little more about love and gentleness here. Sharing seems to be the order of the day.
DonnaD hugs right back at you, thanks for all your kindness. And Winnie thanks again for trying to help with my pictures!
God bless us every one

OMG Katrina I wanted to end my last post and say that I’m twirling and my shirt is spinning with joy and then this video. It captured the essence of the joy in my heart. Thank you so beautiful
January 11th, 2010 at 9:54 pm
Mine too,Katrina…. Joy Rising.
My heart is so full.
January 11th, 2010 at 9:56 pm
Ruthie – Shall we twirl some blue polka dot ice cubes in some pink and white striped Pomegranate likker now? Is it soup yet? I’m parched from all this crying and happy dancing!!
January 11th, 2010 at 10:02 pm
Suggestion: watch above video with sound off, and only the whirling parts, maybe? (I do not really know Mr. Osho – nor promote the included meditation advertising. He’s probably an ok guy, probably just wants to be Home with God, just like me.)
January 11th, 2010 at 10:04 pm
I have to say good night ladies…what a great ending to a Monday night.
See you in the morning.
Hugs Annie
January 11th, 2010 at 10:06 pm
Yes M♥M NOW is the time! Soups ON!
Let’s Par-tay!
Just a little advice. Better to twirl earlier than later.
(But you knew that)
And Katrina I thought what he said was great.
January 11th, 2010 at 10:08 pm
Good Night LaAnnie. hugs
January 11th, 2010 at 10:13 pm
I tried watching the twirling video with my eyes crossed and it worked perfectly. As planned, I got dizzy, fell back down on my chair and puked. Twirling mission accomplished… except that I think I may have been missing something really important about it. I am going to try it again, with more concentration next time.
So now for that drink.
January 11th, 2010 at 10:19 pm
I’m off to bed, my ladies. With all that crying and laughing, I’m exhausted. Good night and sweet dreams to all.
January 11th, 2010 at 10:21 pm
Well, M♥M, I am glad that you got that out of the way……
Now on to the important things.
How do you do the chicken dance, anyway???

I suspect after a few more of these we will understand the ‘chicken dance’ perfectkly. No?
January 11th, 2010 at 10:36 pm
Am I twirling or is it just me?
January 11th, 2010 at 10:38 pm
No, I think you’re actually doing it – either that or my screen is twirling. Way to go Ruthie!!
January 11th, 2010 at 10:40 pm

January 11th, 2010 at 10:43 pm
Good Luck M♥M.
You always get the “scoop”.
January 11th, 2010 at 10:43 pm
Sure (hack, hack) – I’ve had enough for tonight.. been chain-puffing with all the excitement.. I nearly singed my nose there on that last one.
January 11th, 2010 at 10:44 pm
Getting ‘the scoop’ when it comes to Dreamy is liable to turn in to ‘kitty litter duty’ for a week.. I best be careful, watch my step..

Grotto nuns gone wild yes Katrina that’s our dance! I’m almost ready to join the group; still working on my splits and staying up past 9 pm. Loved reading the whispers in the grotto and I am most happy for you Mother S…it was a roller coaster of an emotional ride yesterday but it ended well. I hope you are feeling better today.
I never mind cleaning up the grotto post celebration; in fact I don’t think we are done celebrating just getting it ready for round two for the overseas crowd …Ruthie left a generous supply to keep the toasts coming.
Hugs round the Monastery
January 12th, 2010 at 10:19 am
Yes I did a bit of the ’splits & twirling’ myself yesterday, didn’t I LaAnnie?!! – I am so glad the sadness of my Mom’s passing had diminished by the time I came here to the Monastery to see that Jamie and Bonnie were getting married.. Then yep – way the other way into extreme happiness!! All in all a fairly normal day for Mother…
Loves,
M.
January 12th, 2010 at 10:28 am
You are the bestest twirler there ever was!
Could I love you any more than I already do??? I can’t imagine it’s possible!
Looking forward to your interview with Dreamy…maybe you’ll have some news tonight around the campfire. We’ll reenact the wedding ceremony and do some more twirling…I’ll leave the splits to you :)
January 12th, 2010 at 10:42 am
Ah, well, on the Dreamy interview thing.. you see, I wasn’t able to get that close… you see apparently I miscalculated the ability of sound to travel up there on the mountain, and apparently Rusty, the horse, heard me crouching behind a big rock, stirred up the others and before I knew it I was surrounded by 3 dogs, two horses, two raccoons and one very large CAT. Luckily I had food in my pockets (maybe that was the give-away) and was able to bribe my way out of there…I barely got out alive.
Will try again tonight.
Mother
January 12th, 2010 at 10:54 am

can’t stop laughing! Perfect story for the campfire tonight…we’ll keep plotting

Hi Anne/ Tex,
We really should baptize you with a different name. But that withstanding, just wanted to say I love your video. More… more… more
January 14th, 2010 at 2:07 am
TexAnne i just LOVED your video…. It was a surprise to hear you talk with an American accent. ….made me realize when i read whispers i actually hear them, and up til now everyone talks like i do …tee hee
January 14th, 2010 at 2:51 am
Worse, it’s a Texas accent…It really comes out when I get a little nervous….
You can take the Canadian out of Texas…
Thanks yaaaaaa’ll!
PS Texas really isn’t in “The South” – the accent is totally different, eh?
January 14th, 2010 at 3:48 am

Oh TexAnne, what a difference it makes to hear your voice. The sound of my PC has gone fro some days, and i so wanted to see and hear this. Lovely kind warm voice that I immediately trust xoxoxo
January 14th, 2010 at 10:56 am
Tex/Can, not so frozen here in Coastal BC. A lot of rain and concern for the Olympics. I’ll take the rain any day. After being raised in the prairies and then the mountains, I never want to see frozen anything. But that’s just me—older and loving warm, eh. PS: Glad you like your name. It suits you.

Received this in an email today, thought it was cute:
CALMNESS IN OUR LIVES
I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following a simple advice heard on the Oprah show, you too can find inner peace.
Dr. Oz proclaimed, “The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished.”
I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn’t finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Zinfandel, a bottle of Tequila, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos and a box of chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now!
Pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace.
January 15th, 2010 at 1:32 pm
Mother, you forgot the Pool Boy.
;)
January 15th, 2010 at 1:34 pm
Yep – I’m guessin I need to finish him off too, huh. {;-)
January 15th, 2010 at 1:49 pm
SisterAnn, how ’bout we ‘finish off’ those brownies you’re always carrying around in your habit pockets? Got any with walnuts and chocolate chips today? (My favorite). Don’t care if they’re linty… that’s the best kind.. Pocket brownies… mmmmm
January 15th, 2010 at 3:04 pm
I heard the guys talking about football
Watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Today in the store I saw some cupcakes -
They said “5 inch cupcakes” but the letters were too close together
So it looked like it said “5in cupcakes.”
Better finish them off, too!
January 15th, 2010 at 3:05 pm
sin decorated cake w 10 cupcakes…

January 15th, 2010 at 5:38 pm
I never decorate a cake with anything else… but Cowboys.

Save a horse, ride a cowboy? {That’s a song} Now that’s true blue Texas, right there….
January 15th, 2010 at 6:10 pm
Which reminds me of stories my great aunt used to tell me out around the campfire at dusk…..
January 15th, 2010 at 6:13 pm
Seems she’d saved a few horses in her early days….
January 15th, 2010 at 7:53 pm
Save a horse – ride a cowboy, did you say?
de ja vu!
Did you just say that?
January 15th, 2010 at 11:44 pm
Save a horse, ride a cowboy. Right. I wonder which you’d find first at a Course study group, a horse or a cowboy?
January 16th, 2010 at 12:14 am
Hmmm.. that’s a hard one, Katrina… If the horse was already saved, it would have to be the cowboy. The horse wouldn’t need the study group. However,… I have heard tell of people at Course study groups referring to hav’n gotten it “straight from the horses’s mouth”… so horses MUST attend.. Don’t really know.
January 16th, 2010 at 12:45 am

January 16th, 2010 at 3:11 am
One day, this might be a forgiveness opportunity for me!
Whose idea was it for me to get a Flip, anyways?
January 16th, 2010 at 4:27 am
lol ! oh TexAnneCan I just love you to bits ! about halfway through i thought hey wait a minute where`s that Texan accent and twigged you were lip-syncing and just when i was thinking what a good voice you had too … Thank you for the joy you bring xoxoxoxo
January 16th, 2010 at 4:44 am
Hehe and thank you!
MoM prompted me to post it -”pretty please” almost always works on me!
I was lip*sinking to Orrin Tucker and Wee Bonnie Baker
to the tune “Oh, Johnny!” A World War II classic
♫♬♪♫
All the girls are crazy about a certain little lad,
Although he’s very, very bad,
He could be OH so good when he wanted to!
Bad or good, he understood that love’s another thing,
For every girl in town followed him around
Just to hold his hand and sing….
Oh! Johnny! Oh, Johnny – How you can love
Oh! Johnny! Oh, Johnny – Heaven’s above
You make my sad heart *jump* with joy,
And when you’re near, I just can’t sit still a minute….
Oh! Johnny! Oh, Johnny, please tell me dear,
What makes me love you so?
You’re not handsome, it’s true, but when I look at you -
I just – Oh, Johnny – Oh! Johnny!– uh-oh!
January 16th, 2010 at 4:51 am
TexAnneCan…this is the Best! I love it! You are so good to us to film you in action…in traffic, no less. You give the Monastery so much levity!!! So glad you

January 16th, 2010 at 5:14 pm

January 17th, 2010 at 8:29 am
I need to do some serious catching up…Loving all the levity… the flip video has inspired you ms anne/tx/can !!!! and you are using it with such creativity and spreading joy across state lines, oceans and generations! Mother was right that needed to be shared. Looks like the requests are lining up …next closeup to include both dimples :)
January 17th, 2010 at 8:56 am
What is a flip video? Please explain for those of us not as tech. savvy as others. I am guessing that it is made on a ‘flip’ phone with a video recorder but really don’t know.
January 18th, 2010 at 5:50 pm
Yoohoo Lisa ! whatcha cooking o mighty and bold italicist :)…..How about Pomegranate Lentil Soup ? what ? it`s a fair dinkum recipe…. i just found it online…no you`re right it doesnt sound that appetizing…
My grandson is staying with me at the moment…. We play a lot of Scrabble… he is usually very good but sometimes he starts that caper that is the bane of all earnest scrabble players` ears ->
“Is sleeg a word, how about faf or feg ……Are you sure they`re not winnie… How about meaune…..”
January 18th, 2010 at 7:52 pm
win-win, how about some nice chicken soup? It’s always good for what ails you. Lots of monklings going through lots of process lately. We’ll need to make a large vat of it by the looks of things. I’ll start chopping the veggies.
January 18th, 2010 at 8:12 pm
Here I’ll help. May I add some wild rice?
January 18th, 2010 at 8:27 pm
wild rice yes! with maybe some herbs from the monastery garden … and i`ll get the bay leaves while i`m at it for the soup….. now we need some fresh crusty bread…Hmm do we have a bakery on the premises… you know guys this place is so big no way have i even half finished exploring,
And just now when i heard you calling Lisa, i was off in the North Wing gazing at Monk`s beautiful pictures ….
Now Pam I am going to make a nice pot of Ginger tea for you and Mother and if you want to, you can just rest under the shade of our beautiful Oak trees while i give you both a foot massage with lavender oil……
January 18th, 2010 at 8:50 pm
And when your done I’ll do your neck and shoulders O.K.
January 18th, 2010 at 9:04 pm
Ginger tea! Wonderful! And bay leaves and fresh herbs for the soup! And wild rice! This soup is going to be so yummy!
Usually we get the bread straight from France from Bernard, but if he’s busy, we may have to make our own. Anyone know how to make bread? I’m just good at eating it! : )
January 18th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
I bake bread. I was thinking my grandmother’s grahm bread recipe would work well. A nice brown bread. How many loaves 4 or 6?
January 18th, 2010 at 10:14 pm
lets be like Jesus and see if 2 loaves will feed everyone ..teehee…
and oh that feels good Pam ! my shoulders needed a massage and you are so gentle ….. while you are massaging i`ll just google “grahm” – nope nothing …. oh i get it ! Grahm must be your grandmother`s name….
Oooh that`s smellin` real good Lees….
January 18th, 2010 at 11:13 pm
I think it’s just about ready. How nice to have a bowl of warm soup and then have a nice rest. (yawn) night, night, all…
January 18th, 2010 at 11:50 pm
delicious ! thank you Lisa dear…. i`ll look after the rest of it while you are sleeping in case the raccoons come round…sweet dreams to you…
{ sprinkles fairy dust and lightly kisses cheek} xoxoxooxox
January 19th, 2010 at 2:58 am
winnie, a variety of Scrabble we do in our family is to really go for it in creating new words. And we allow it if everybody agree that that is a very good new word…like Grahm, of course – this is the original word of grandmothers, the mother of all “grandmother” – was invented in the inner realms of Nebraska in the 1200ds, if I am not mistaken. Very old and distinguished.
Oh it is so annoying to sleep while you are having such great time in the grotto. I hope there’s still some soup left in the kitchen, this is my kind of food – love the herbs – winnie, you might give us the recipy -
love from Nina who is awake almost all alone, well, together with at least Lawrence and Bernie…And Hedda …any other awake out there in my time zone?
January 19th, 2010 at 3:15 am
Hi Nina :) Good morning to you ! yes i remember you telling me about your Scrabble variation and it so goes with your creative nature….. wouldnt work for me … I`m a bit of a Scrabble Nazi actually….
Plenty of soup left and would you be a dear and take over looking after it… Damn raccoons have worked out how to open the fridge…and i`m sleepy now and have to go to bidies ….. loves to you xoxoxo
January 19th, 2010 at 7:13 am
Oh my gosh this soup is SO good. And I am ravenous. And the bread is delicious too. Chicken soup is good for the soul. Especially when made with so much love by such beautiful caring monklings. Thank-you. All of you. For the food and the kindness and the candles and the Love that is shown here.
I have today off, finally,(ended up working yesterday) and get to listen to Jamie’s class and catch up a little on the past couple of weeks. I am so glad to be here.
Again, thank-you so very much for everything. {{{big hugs}}}
But first I am going to have another bowl of soup.
January 19th, 2010 at 7:29 am
And a nap. :)
January 19th, 2010 at 9:03 am
Winnie ,I spelt it wrong ‘graham’ and if you add flour You find it. Though not avaliable in all countries.Wiki is interesting, it’s “holy” :) flour invented by a Rev. Sylvester Graham. But i like your line of reasoning better it’s more ‘comfey’ feeling.
Nina, I like your use of grahm for scrabble. Wonderful inventivness.
January 19th, 2010 at 11:02 am
oh, <i loved Grahambread 40 years ago!wow!
January 19th, 2010 at 5:35 pm
Hey there’s plenty of soup and bread left for another meal. How about cheesecake for dessert? I made plenty of sauces to top it with. Chocolate, strawberry, carmel, blueberry, sweet cherry and lemon. If thats to rich there is a plate of orange butter print cookies on the table by the hot tub. Thats where I’m going to hang out and hide until the ice storm thats about to hit here blows over. :)
January 19th, 2010 at 6:53 pm
Did someone say cheesecake?
January 19th, 2010 at 8:38 pm
“Purpose unites us. See this and the end of hell is near.”
Quote unquote. ‘Zat count?
(I joke)
January 19th, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Yes please to lots of chocolate sauce…. I`ll hang out with you in the ice storm Pam – how delightfully refreshing it will be for a hot Aussie gal !
January 19th, 2010 at 11:18 pm
Yummmm….leftover soup is the best. Lisa and Pam and Winnie made such a perfect blend eh Nina? Loving this bread toasted Pam.
My tummy feels just right now.
Glad to hear you’ve had a restful day Ruth-Anne.
January 19th, 2010 at 11:20 pm
Hi Ya Michelle belle :) …been missing you…big big hugs darlin xoxoxo
January 19th, 2010 at 11:29 pm

♥♥♥xox♥♥♥
January 20th, 2010 at 12:01 am
how AWESOME that would be !…. you must be psychic tee hee … am in the middle of a great game of Scrabble with my grandson… he`s says he`s been looking forward all day to playing – oh drool!
January 20th, 2010 at 9:29 am
No cheesecake? Howz about some Dreamy Ice Creamy?
January 20th, 2010 at 2:30 pm
I have watched this again and again….
It’s pretty funny how our minds project these scenes…
And copy and paste the players….and dictate the outcome…
over and over and over ..will we ever get it “right?”
Forget the bowl – pass me a spoon, somebody!
{Eats ice cream right out of the carton}
January 20th, 2010 at 5:46 pm
Awesome vidjo, TX… and how true, our projections can look like any old thing at all, can’t they.
January 21st, 2010 at 12:45 am
I think it’s been entirely too serious around here… time for some more midnight adventures… at the very least, I’m going to check around here for some opportunities for trouble… {puts crime outfit on, grabs flashlight and heads for the Old Monk’s building}… maybe I can find a treasure or two while poking around here in the dark. Gawd these guys in here really snore loud. I could hold a can-can competition right here between their beds and they’d never hear a thing. A couple of well-placed fake spiders oughtta get things started… and a little pepper in their toothpaste… maybe some Richard Simmons workout CD’s in their DVD player… turn volume up way loud. {Then hang out to listen to them explain to Head Monk why Richard Simmons instead of Ken Wapnick}… replace all the Course literature in the men’s with porn.. Oops! It already is, never mind….
January 21st, 2010 at 12:56 am
{Goes back to replace literature in men’s with Ken Wapnick books… that’ll fix em}
Next morning 4:00 am Screams can be heard all over Monastery coming from Old Monk’s building. No it wasn’t the spiders, no it wasn’t the pepper, and definitely NOT the Richard Simmons DVD (they loved it). It was the Wapnick literature in the men’s.
January 21st, 2010 at 2:43 am
{chuckles }
January 21st, 2010 at 9:54 am
oh you cruel wonderful mother you (laying on floor, kicking helplessly, peeing in pants, crying/laughing especially the image of them enjoying Richard Simmons for gossake!!!In their robes, yeah!
did I post it here or did I just dream it – it’s a video called the funniest video in the world, where there is an improvisation, theatre sport I think, where some guys are improvising and one little one is Richard Simmons – if i didn’t post it, that video for sure will help the maybe serious seriousness in the grotto(no we caant have thaat Mommy)
-so did I post it? no? nO?
January 21st, 2010 at 11:26 am
MotherD, I wish I had been up later last night to join you in the Grotto Caper. I have been missing the fun of this place and joining with you and Ruth-Anne and Winnie and TexCan and everyone who has popped (ooops, almost typed another word) in to chat and partake of Ruth-Anne’s lethal mixtures in the evening. Not too mention all the great food. It was a great release from the daily toils. I do hope it comes back. And I will make an effort to keep at least one eye open in the evening so I don’t miss any of the shenanigans. Much love, DD.
January 21st, 2010 at 11:29 am
Nina, yes you did. It was soooo funny. I have shared that video with a number of friends. Maybe we need a room just for screening videos so we don’t lose sight of them. There have been so many good ones. DD.
January 21st, 2010 at 11:35 am
Maybe we can insert a typed in code or letter – and then type in search, and all the videos come up.
Or a little media room….”The ReMedial Room”….that would work, too!
January 22nd, 2010 at 8:56 am
Dear Loverly Laedies of the Grotto ~
I’ve been in such a stinky place
ere these several weeks.
Have tried and tried to lighten up
the anger on my face.
Even Jesus, the man of grins
hadn’t made a dent
So he turned to humor
of a British bent
And with this song he wins.
If any one is feeling sad
depressed or suicidal,
Cast off your woes,
wiggle your toes
and sing with Eric Idle . . . .
January 22nd, 2010 at 11:30 am
#155 thank you for the laughs TexCanne
January 22nd, 2010 at 12:18 pm
{yawns} well i think i might skedaddle back to bed….. love to all !
January 22nd, 2010 at 12:24 pm
{Tucks Winnie in, warm kisses on forehead, slides teddy bear in too…}
January 22nd, 2010 at 3:23 pm
here’s the Orrfugler (Black grouses) I mentioned in the Monklings day and night-room…
January 22nd, 2010 at 3:38 pm
-and this sounds familiar…
January 22nd, 2010 at 3:40 pm
ahem…for those who doesn’t see the relevance of black grouses love-play…I watched the kookaburra sing and laugh at the Monklings-room, and said it reminded me a bit of this guy here…
January 22nd, 2010 at 3:58 pm
::giggles:: Those two summed up special relationships rather well for me.:)
January 22nd, 2010 at 4:16 pm
ah, and the two grouse-guys are so pissed when the lady is absent – like why should they spend all that energy when there’s no-one there to admire it.. – like, where IS the audience?
little do they know of the fame in the movies…
and nightnight,it’s 12am here
January 22nd, 2010 at 5:04 pm
Nina, those videos are priceless. What a great sense of humor you have… love it.
January 22nd, 2010 at 7:46 pm
Very cute to see these two grouse dudes fighting!! Maybe they’re trying to the get blood & guts over with before the ladies show up… the one that can still walk gets all the girls!! (Sounds a bit like our neighborhood bars at 11: o’clock….)
January 22nd, 2010 at 9:34 pm
Looks like the place I just walked out of….:O
MMmmmmhhhhhhhhhh. Back in the Grotto.
Hi Y’all, eh.
January 22nd, 2010 at 9:41 pm
Ah yes….Another forgiveness opp. Looks like my posts are going to be out in the ethers again for awhile. Oh well I can catch up a little. I’ll just grab a little of this pomegranate looking stuff and look out from the treehouse for awhile. There is ALWAYS something good to eat there too. And I found a way to keep the kookaburras quiet so me and Winnie can sleep in for a change.
January 22nd, 2010 at 10:20 pm
Well my whispers are in the ethers…{{{{giggling harder now}}}}} and I’m talking to myself…. (like my 80 year old dad who is living with me right now says, “You gotta talk to somebody intelligent once in awhile.”)….
I think I’ll hit the hay. Back to the Grouse Match tomorrow.
night, y’all, eh.
January 22nd, 2010 at 10:23 pm
Oh yes but before I lay me down to sleep…one more thing.
(((((Cordelia}}}}}
January 23rd, 2010 at 8:22 am
Pumpkins..to be absolutely sure there is too much seriousness here, here is my all-time favorite pas-de-deux in the history of dance. I am in fact in love with the crocodile -- when he appears, looking so dashin’ and handsome, I am sold. There are two moments I especially adore -- the 3:25, and the 4:16. I must be so sick to be in love with this crocodile-character, but there it is.
Forgiven.
January 23rd, 2010 at 8:24 am
NOT too much seriousness I meant. NOT.
January 23rd, 2010 at 10:35 am
Oh dear Nina, it is MOTHER who has been too serious, not YOU!!! or anyone else!!
{Takes foot out of mouth}
Love,
Mother
January 23rd, 2010 at 11:21 am
Nina, this reminded me so much of the time I took my grandson, when he was very small, to IMAX for this movie. It was so wonderful and we had the greatest time. I remember him snuggling under my arm so that he would feel safe while watching it. Thanks for bringing back such a loving memory. Hugs, DD.
January 23rd, 2010 at 4:59 pm
I feel so alone
I shall sleep in the Tree House
maybe someone will get their comforter and snuggle up beside me while I sleep
I really would like that
January 23rd, 2010 at 5:58 pm
Hi Nina, I’m right there with you all snuggled up. I just got ready for my nap so perfect timing. Sweet dreams my friend. I will sing silent night for us.
January 23rd, 2010 at 6:36 pm
♥♥♥Nina♥♥♥ Warmest hugs.
January 23rd, 2010 at 7:11 pm
Pukedthrew up all day…Very very bad day.
I’ve got a book we can burn to keep us warm.
Maybe then it will bring some light.
Pretty dramatic, aren’t I? ;)
Sorry I’m not good company tonight.
Just a very very bad day, eh?
January 23rd, 2010 at 7:18 pm
Nina- I just watched the little film.
Very nice. I’ve never seen that before.

{{{{{{{Cynthia}}}}}}…just now caught your video…how did I miss this before? Ohmigosh, this is totally what I would want to view when coming from a stinky place.
How goes it today?
{{{{{TEXCAN}}}}}} We are sending comforting angels immediately!!!!
January 23rd, 2010 at 8:53 pm
Hi Everyone! Texas, I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. But I do have to say that due to your amazing film making abilities and excellent song choice, I’ve been on an Audioslave kick! I’ve been listening to them a lot recently.
So, I’ll add a little song for you all. It’s one of my favorites. Their songs can be a bit heavy, so I hope this will be enjoyable rather than a downer.
But how can it be a downer, really, when you’re watching Chris Cornell…sigh.
And is that our very own dazzling Pool Boy on the drums???
Oh, and check out the bassist’s tattooed shoulders…too cool.
And the lyrics for Al. I’m missing having her around.
Like a Stone
on a cobweb afternoon
in a room full of emptiness
by a freeway i confess
i was lost in the pages
of a book full of death
reading how we’ll die alone
and if we’re good we’ll lay to rest
anywhere we want to go
(chorus)
in your house i long to be
room by room patiently
i’ll wait for you there
like a stone i’ll wait for you there
alone
on my deathbed i will pray
to the gods and the angels
like a pagan to anyone
who will take me to heaven
to a place i recall
i was there so long ago
the sky was bruised
the wine was bled
and there you led me on
in your house i long to be
room by room patiently
i’ll wait for you there
like a stone i’ll wait for you there
alone
and on i read
until the day was gone
and i sat in regret
of all the things i’ve done
for all that i’ve blessed
and all that i’ve wronged
in dreams until my death
i will wander on
January 23rd, 2010 at 9:16 pm
Texas: So sorry you’re sick, along with Laura’s angels I am sending a lovely broth for you to sip, some 7 Up, your favorite movies, blankie, pillows and a staff to wait on you hand and foot (one of them Pool Boy)… Hope you’re better soon.. so much love and hugs to you.
Love, Mother
Cynthia, that was a hoot!!
January 23rd, 2010 at 9:43 pm
TexCan, here is a little cuppa for when you are feeling better. Warmest hugs, DD.
January 23rd, 2010 at 9:43 pm
Oops, maybe someone can make it a little smaller…. thank you. DD.
January 23rd, 2010 at 10:16 pm
TexAnneCan, so sorry you are sick and hope you are feeling better tomorrow.
Just to add a play on the words, and not as a Course whack, can’t help but add – you can escape the world you see by giving up attack thoughts about barfing in the toilet?
January 24th, 2010 at 3:54 am
It was the course that made me want to hurl in the first place!
Scotty accent
Aye – Captain – I’m givin’ her full power –
there’s no way she’ll survive goin’ into warp drive!
Hey DonnaD! Thanks for the cuppa java! Perhaps someone could make it
bigger, not smaller. Beam it up, Scotty!
Thanks, ya’ll for your kind words. I’m ok…just…coursified!
January 24th, 2010 at 5:36 am
Oh, Course, that is the key to my salvation,
Why do I rock and roll with you to the tune of aggravation?
You are wild horses, scattering in all directions,
That I herd in zigzag patterns, always missing the one called Correction.
Let us make peace and slow our pace to a walk of gradual comprehension.
Muzzle to muzzle, gently ambling our way toward a sunset of all inclusive ascension.
January 24th, 2010 at 8:33 am
Hi Laura ~
My whisper was in “modification” for a couple of days,
so it was lost.
I had thought perhaps it was considered too outrageous
by the Monastery Censor Committee.
Don’t know why the video is in link form still.
I must not have added it correctly.
[Monk edit: Hi Cynthia. Went back and fixed your video by adding a "v" after the http.]
I’m feeling much better.
{{{{ thanks }}}}
Love your poem, by the way.
“gradual comprehension” is the key, innit?
And the last line . . .
Beautiful
Very inspiring
Nothing like a good laugh to break the
“Life-is-so-serious” shackles :)
January 24th, 2010 at 8:38 am
Again, Toddling Laura ~
Not that it’s all that important
But the last two lines of my Whisper
Were typed following “{{{ thanks }}}”
not at the end.
This has been happening with my
emails lately; words and lines
getting shifted around.
Weird
Trippy
January 24th, 2010 at 9:20 am
AnneTexCan, that little film is a bit from Disney’s Fantasia from 1940. All just illustrations to great music: the Sacre Du Printemps by Stravinskij is there, and Night at Bald Mountain and Ave Maria, which I posted i have forgotten where now yesterday.
January 24th, 2010 at 12:58 pm
Thanks, “Monk edit” for your much-appreciated help.
I had read the instructions and promptly forgot.
I think I’m loosing my mind, and am grateful you
have yours :)
January 24th, 2010 at 1:35 pm
Hurray, Cynthia! Glad this day feels brighter!
January 24th, 2010 at 1:37 pm
Laura, I just love your poetic bent. And I also love your wisdom in the Q&As to Lucia. Been there, too. I never spent much time looking for anyone else but that doesn’t mean I didn’t spend a lot of time thinking I wasn’t enough on some level. I finally moved on from that. My ideal relationship would be where we were NOT living together but shared ideas, laughs and had each other’s back. Having said that, I have to say (except during times of emergencies) I like my space. And the freedom to party in the Grotto whenever I want. Love and laughs, DD.
January 24th, 2010 at 3:37 pm
TexAnne, hope you feel better soon.
January 24th, 2010 at 3:40 pm
Cynthia, Hope you feel better also.
January 24th, 2010 at 5:08 pm
Cynthia, just a bit of woo…you and DonnaD are on the same track on the 17th she posted same the same video for about the same reason in her gallery. :) I mention it only because I notice similar things like that happen frequently around here and it always reminds me that there is just one mind.:)
January 24th, 2010 at 5:15 pm
{{{☼☼♥Cynthia♥☼☼}}}
January 24th, 2010 at 5:54 pm
DonnaD…glad you like the sudden bursts of T.S. I’m guessing there are many “like”
stories of yours, Lucia’s, mine and many others…and all go through a time of self-incrimination, wanting to ease the pain…desperate to ease the pain. I’m like you, too, in that I have come to love the space that came out of it. That right there has shown me how upside-down and backwards this dream really is. Thanks for your kind words.
Hugs!
January 24th, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Just got home from a funeral. The daughter died last week, the father died this week.
The mother died a year ago.
Everyone was very Unitarian and Edgar Casey stuff.
Two funerals ago with this same family, I told the minister that I liked his prayer.
But I messed up and said accidently “I like your HAIR!”
So now they all ask me if I still like his hair!
BTW, I do -it’s perfect gray!
January 24th, 2010 at 8:11 pm
What the heck, Texas… three funerals for the same family in one year? So sorry… But, I did like your prayer….
January 24th, 2010 at 10:14 pm
Once, when I was young and lived in Deutschland, my landlord died suddenly. The next day I brought a lily to my landlady, and in my struggling German, I looked up in the dictionary what to say, and found “Es tut mir leid”. That comes out as a literal translation to English as “It does sadness to me” – their equivalent to our “I’m sorry”. But in my lack of knowing which vowel gets sounded in this other language, I mispronounced the leid, and what I said was actually closer to, “It makes me sing.” She wrinkled up her face, then looked down, and accepted the lily. We were never able to clear it up, and maybe she understood my pronunciation/grammatical error — but, then I didn’t mention her hair.

A CONVERSATION WITH MY ALTAR EGO
Winwin : I feel happy
Bugsy : feelings lie
Winwin : yes I know but I still feel happy and I can only work with where i`m at
Bugsy : yeah you think you know how to do this Course – that`s how arrogant you are but you don’t know crap!
Winwin : yes you`re quite right. I don’t really know anything and sometimes I think I am the epitome of Arrogance when i catch myself thinking that i understand this Course. Then I just feel happy that that thought has arisen for me to forgive. In fact Bugsy it is an excellent symbol of my original arrogance at thinking I knew better than God !….. still happy
Bugsy : you shouldn`t be so healthy when so many around you are not. If you don’t smarten up I `ll make your nose even redder than it is for starters..
Winwin: Well santa has a red nose and so does Rudolph so I`m in good company. Besides it`s very handy to have my forgiveness exercises be as plain as the nose on my face
Bugsy { getting very angry and looking decidedly red himself } : OOOh ! i`ll break your other arm like I did this time last year
Winwin : really ? well ok… that would give me a marvelous opportunity to have another go at taking one step closer to “seeing right through the pain”. I definitely got a glimpse of it last time but I was too busy celebrating with you the gory glory of all the special attention I received to pay much attention…
January 30th, 2010 at 9:32 am
☼Winnie☼ My nose is red from laughing so I must be in EXCELLENT company. What a lovely way of expressing your happiness at where you are at this moment and knowing you are continually in process… and choosing love and kindness through it all. There is no arrogance there, dear Winnie. Just pure spirit. How lovely you are. DD.
January 30th, 2010 at 9:36 am
Winnie,he just didn’t get any way with you, did he?sweet non-resistance, I love it -
January 30th, 2010 at 10:51 am
Winnie, so glad to see I’m not the only one that talks to myself… I don’t usually win the argument, however…
January 30th, 2010 at 1:30 pm
♩♫♪♫♬
I rode my bicycle past your window last night
I roller skated to your door at daylight
It almost seems like you’re avoiding me
I’m okay alone, but you got something I need
Well, I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
♩♫♪♫♬
January 30th, 2010 at 2:20 pm
Oh i wish i could ride my bike with you but alas it`s in the shed awaiting funds to get fixed… It`s an awesome little bike – it looks like a regular one but it`s electric as well pedal-powered. I can get around anywhere on the mountain – up the hills with ease and puts all the fun back into cycling…. when i was buying it the dude told me it would cut my effort by half. So i told him that was great but didnt he have one that would do three-quarters of the work ? {tee hee}
Thank you for your lovely kind words my darling sisters – I just love you so much xoxoxoox

I just stumbled upon Monk’s beautiful post from a year ago (right now ;-) in which he reflected on the spiritual themes he found reflected in Castaway. I quite like the idea of picturing my ego as Wilson; absurd, ridiculous image, empty and ultimately useless. What I like best is picturing Wilson floating away from me forever.
Inspiration and love are all around us. Thank you, Monk, and all monklings for what you give me every day on this site.
February 1st, 2010 at 1:42 am
hugs to you Marla ! and here`s to our Wilson`s “floating away from us forever” oooh ooh oooh i just thought of something…I legally changed my name several years ago – Wilson used to be one of my middle names ..
………………….
Nina {and Tex} thanks for the laughs – there`s always plenty to be had around here xoxoxoxoo

Good night, my Winwin!
February 1st, 2010 at 7:50 pm
Psst, hey winwin, come over here to the Grotto. I saw that during today’s Q&A, you were having a little inner dialogue. : )
You wrote: ‘ALL of this is going on in my mind’
Well, here’s a little song from me to you. It’s from my college days, 1986 to be exact. I’ve been re-exploring all the music that was so important to me back then. The song is All in My Mind by Love and Rockets. I hope you like it (and don’t find them too weird!)
February 3rd, 2010 at 1:21 am
“but if you look into your mirror
You’ll see that nobody has ever ripped you off
It’s all in your mind”
Thank you for the song Lisa of the Musica ♫♪
I enjoyed listening to it through new ears. Last night i went to a party and we danced to eighties music, none of which i knew, but it was great fun, and now its continuing today… :)
I never liked the music of the eighties {or the nineties} on principle. I wouldnt let my children listen to it for fear they would be badly influenced – I called it Pop Noisic….
Thank goodness we can all laugh about that these days……
Now that i`ve grown up a little they share some of that music with me and i see how clearly these artists understood the antics of the ego thought system and how depressing that must have been…No wonder so many artists have led tragic lives….
hugs to you ! xooxoxoxoxoox

Swim suit looks a little wrinkled… Oops! That’s me.
February 4th, 2010 at 12:49 pm
☼♥MoM♥☼ You always make me laugh OUT LOUD!! I’ll take a piece of Ruthie’s choc cake if there’s any left. Been called into work again and that ALWAYS requires some sweets. I’ll be heading for the treehouse when I get home and lookin’ for some of that fine juice you’all are drinkin’. Maybe we can get TexCan to sing us a ditty or two. I’m all for TexCan’s fan club (thanks Leni). It’s good to see Michele is back, too. We can tuck Winnie and Nina into bed and whisper a story from one of their many childhood books. MoM, give my hugs to the Pool Boy. Hi Anil. Hugs to all. Love, DD.
February 4th, 2010 at 1:49 pm
DonnaD, off you go then! (Opens a big sack with the softest pale blue and yellow and pink and green little feathers who whirls down and sticks into Donna’s hair (and she will not be able to remove them at work. Wonder how she will explain them?( :::giggles:::) yes and Nina’s favorite happy happy violin concert, khatchaturian’s violinconcert with David Oistrach, the third movement when the composer almost bursts with life…see! there, under our tree house!!! the first dandelion, up from the snow -- it just could not wait -
February 4th, 2010 at 2:06 pm
Holy Cow Nina, that violin piece is amazing!! Smokin!!
February 4th, 2010 at 2:22 pm
Mother, I love love love that you love it and that I could share it …the first time I heard it I think I was 16-17 and it overtook my, falling to my knees, laughing, crying, couldn’t believe that it was allowed to feel all that – and it is – sometimes, when the winter has been really hard where I live, and the springtime comes, it is this bursting with life in everything – trees, grass, buds, flowers, people, animals, winds, and the light – the light – just sitting in the little wood at the foot at the mountain close by my house, just sucking it all in…remember last time I did that, and on the way back home I saw that somebody had painted a fresh pink B I G grafitti on one of the big boulders there -
it spelled: M A M A
sweet, yes?
February 4th, 2010 at 2:27 pm
Yes, Nina that’s very very sweet.. A rock named “Mama” is sure to be a blessing in your life, =-= Love, Mother
February 4th, 2010 at 2:43 pm
see, I just pictured someone going up there with a bucket of pink paint to adorn one of those rocks with M A M A – don’t you think that one loved hisher mama a lot, and needed to let us know about it…and you are right, it feels like a blessing each time I think about it(and pass by the stone :-)
February 4th, 2010 at 3:37 pm
Oh Texy that was sheer fun ♫♪! Thank you sweetie pies…
ooooh what fun in the grotto was to be had today ! I love you guys !
{chuckles at the thought of Donna wondering why whenever she scrathes her head to ponder a problem at work, little coloured feathers float down}
I hope she thinks it`s little messages of love from the fairy folk { cause it so is !}
On the other hand i have been wondering why the feather pillows up in the tree house are not as plump and fat as they used to be…hmmmm
And Mother i`ll tell ya what`s smokin…first your big day at work the other day and now 30 laps around the hot tub ! – i thought you was gonna be as giddy as a drunken man when you climbed outta that thing…..Pool Boy was standing by discreetly just in case ]
Thank you for the chocolate cake Ruthie-poo – you are such a good cook and we ♥ you…
I`m loving all the music, especially when i know it`s someone`s favourite – it makes it all the more enjoyable and i`m getting such an edjacation {goes back to listen again to Love and Rockets song} i want to hear the bass line …
I was at the library yesterday to try and get all the books everyone was talking about in the Snuggery. The only ones they had were Wind in the Willows and Mooninsummer Madness.
and then i went to the video shop to ask for the “little House of Horrors that Tex was talking about – didnt have that either…
and speaking of Tex, i love that that was your nickname before you came here – how cool !…love from Tex Anne Can fan….and big hugs to Michele and Leni and Anil and everyone xxxxxxxxxoxoxoxooxo
AND p.s. ….-> the first dandelion ? I think i love dandelions more than anything else in the world {even lollies } ……well maybe not lollies…….yes even lollies
February 4th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
winnie, you make me smile with my belly! ( and by the way, Moominsummermadness is adorable too.)

Hugs to Winwin -You don’t never need to be shy in da Grott -oh!
February 4th, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Oh, Nina, what a day I had thanks to your colorful feathers. They were floating everywhere and NO ONE took me seriously. It didn’t help that I had chocolate cake smeared all over my mouth and that I was humming “Stormy Weather” while the sun was shining. And TexCan, there’s no point in being shy here. You’ve shown us your true colors and they are so bright that you cannot hide behind anything anymore. Nina, I loved, loved, loved your violin video. I have to agree with our dear MoM, this place is so very special (yes, I said it—SPECIAL) and fills me with love every day. Warmest ☼hugs☼ to everyone.

Everybody I am just so overcome by all the love that I feel in the grotto and the monastery rooms. And the learning and helping and music and art and just plain fun. February 5th, 2010 at 12:02 am
It`s a beautiful afternoon up here about 4.30 pm…. and i am having a lovely time doing what i like best – nothing {tee hee}…. i am listening to Lady Smith, washing the odd dish here and there, watching a bit of movie, sewing a bit, and keeping guard on the TreeHouse of course {gotta watch out for them goblins – dont want them biting Cory}
I only have to work about 8 hours a week [in return for my rent, electricity and internet}
For the last month, however i have been helping look after a very sick person – {havent nursed for years}…. I stay at her place for 48 hours to relieve her full-time carer, and i am loving it. February 5th, 2010 at 12:10 am
Mmmm – apart from missing my laptop cable and therefore you lovelies you mean? In a nutshell – more than a usual amount of drama ( family exiting blazing rolled vehicle over trecherous drop to river, close friend has heart attack, mum’s dog savages my best chooks, my dog attacked in fight and incurring massive vet bills which an angel in form of another sister paid for, dear friend dying of brain tumour … the usual ego dramas! Have remaind remarkably sane and cruisy throughout much of it – due to ‘í would choose peace instead of this’ and holding J’s or M♥Ms or yours or whoever’s hand first comes to mind – you actually serve well there winnie love in your fairy dress atop treehut o’ love!
February 5th, 2010 at 12:16 am
oh that sounds lovely winnie – there is much to be said for gently pottering. Sounds like we’re mirroring eachother – looking after ill person and using a monkling’s image to help us through! i’d LOVE to hear and see you sing winnie … Do it girl!
February 5th, 2010 at 12:40 am
whoa ! Them some dramas ! How is your dog now and how is young Jimi-Zac doing ? did the chooks survive?…Is everything ok with the computer now?
My family is going through a major crisis at the moment – all my children distressed….I just listen and silently forgive and dont mind in the least being targeted as a baddy {by one of them}. After all that`s why he had me {tee hee]
February 5th, 2010 at 1:05 am
Al of the Sunshine!

February 5th, 2010 at 4:19 am
Oh, yes, Al – I guess you would be a good lip-reader.
Yes, too, that I had lost the fun parts of me –
trashed them, killed them, or let them die from neglect.
My eyes are smiling…ya can’t fake that!

February 5th, 2010 at 10:07 am
☼Al of the sunshine☼ How nice to see you back. You have been missed. I am sorry to hear you have had so much drama going on while you were “away”. Just know that there was much love sent your way even though you couldn’t see it. Hugs to you, DD.
February 5th, 2010 at 10:17 am
Hi Al!!! xoxoxo : ) missed you!
February 5th, 2010 at 1:58 pm
{{{{Everyone}}}} – gee you guys a so sweet. I think i did feel the love DD – certainly been weathering it all feeling very held. Nice to see Pam back again too!
February 5th, 2010 at 3:45 pm
Al – I am SO happy to see you are back!!! {Goes off to do happy-dance-under-water in the pool with Pool Boy}
(We missed you A LOT)
Love,
Mother

{{Sends her love, peace, and calm all through the Monastery as she goes off to nap in the Treehouse next to
Winnie at her typewriter and the sweet sleeping Nina}}
Winnie, your typing here will not disturb my rest ONE BIT.
It draws me into peaceful slumber…
Love,
Mother
February 5th, 2010 at 4:28 pm
Mother what a lovely thing to say…. then i think i shall stay in the Treehouse all day writing and posting about stuff and TRUSTING that none of it shall disturb your rest…thank you so much !
February 5th, 2010 at 4:34 pm
Please pardon my sleeping so much… I have bronchitis (again)… so I need lots of rest. Even so, there is hardly a moment that I do not think of my friends and companions here at Le Monastère Beloved with thoughts of love and comfort…
My love to all,
Mother
February 5th, 2010 at 4:46 pm
please rest often Mother …take gentle care of your beloved self
{strokes hair of beloveds while we all just listen to gentle music}
“The Beyondness of Things”
February 5th, 2010 at 5:04 pm
Tiptoeing quietly around the treehouse, tucking covers over MoM (they slipped off… I think she was having Pool Boy dreams again). Placing a bottle of a mixture of eucalyptus oil, hyssop oil and sandalwood oil by her bed to add to her bath water (along with epsom salts) when she wakes up. Also leaving a small container of lavender and chamomile drops in olive oil that she can rub on her chest when she is finished with her bath to help her breath better. And best of all, layers and layers of love to wrap softly around her so she sleeps peacefully. Look, she’s smiling. I think she knows. Angel dreams, MoM. The Monklings.
February 5th, 2010 at 5:11 pm
[and the pool boy was probably having wet dreams }hehehehe
When mother wakes up i think we should have a serious talk with her about this crazy idea of swimming while not being well.... grab her swimmers Donna and let`s hide `em so there will be no more of that naughtiness !
February 5th, 2010 at 5:23 pm
I think you’re right Winnie although I hate to do it. It seems to make her so happy: frolicking around with the Pool Boy, mixing her drinks, telling jokes. There, I’ve hidden the swimmers in the cupboard near the towels. She never seems to put one on so I don’t think she’ll look there. But I think you have to do the talking to her, Winnie. You’re far enough away so that she can’t bop you on the head when you let her know how worried we are about her swimming while she’s not well.
February 5th, 2010 at 5:25 pm
She can be feisty, you know. Particularly when she hasn’t had her cee-gars. Doctor took them away, I heard.
February 5th, 2010 at 5:31 pm
I thought maybe MoM might enjoy this song when she’s up and around. It’s about cee-gars….
February 5th, 2010 at 5:50 pm
Big HOWDY welcome back Al. It was strange iffin my memory serves me right I got back just as your battery was going kaput. Strange.
February 5th, 2010 at 5:56 pm
Hey Mom, Nice big pot of veggie soup simmering for you (and anyone else) when your up and hungry.
February 5th, 2010 at 10:30 pm
Thanks Pam…..Mmmmhhhhhh soup. It’s always such a comforting thing to eat.
yummy
February 5th, 2010 at 11:12 pm
As Winnie’s rythmic typing sent me off to a soft and restful sleep, I was dreaming I smelled of a mixture of eucalyptus, hyssop and sandalwood oil, lavender and chamomile… It was warm and wonderful…. just as I would imagine Love would smell. I also dreamt I was swimming nakee, (where’s my suit?), and smoking cheap cigars ’cause Brad Paisley stole all my Cubans, and my Cuban cigars… (Not sure which ones I will miss more…)
There were these beautiful Angels tucking my covers around me, and even more preparing a delicious veggie soup (my favorite). Then Brad Paisley sang me a soft tune about cigars, so I wouldn’t miss them so much I guess… his way of apologizing…
As I get up I see NIna still sleeping, I gently kiss her forehead, and set off to find the little bastards that stole my suit.
Love you all,
Mother
February 5th, 2010 at 11:22 pm
{giggling with hands over mouth}
It wasnt me Mother …. I swear i had nothing to do with it!
Mmmm this soup is just the ticket….
February 5th, 2010 at 11:24 pm
Well, it wasn’t meeeeeee…….
February 5th, 2010 at 11:36 pm
No, of course it couldn’t have been you two Winnie and DD – you’re too adorable!!! =-= Love, Mother
February 5th, 2010 at 11:55 pm
I`ve had a lovely day despite my earlier tantrum which did not affect my day at all. Best of all i discovered that my shame was contained in the moment. I did not punish myself or go down dark worn-out routes of old, where the signpost reads : This way for the unacceptable ones. I showed me that i can express my deepest darkest fears and Love will still be there for me….
i skipped merrily along, not interested in punishing me. I watched a wonderful movie that made me laugh all the way through – The Cactus Flower with Walter Matthau and Goldie Hawn…. and I chose to believe Mother when she said i wasnt bothering her and I ate the yummy soup that Pam made and i felt so happy that Lisa understood
So Thank you from the bottom of my heart my beautiful darlings Thank you xoxoxoxo
{scatters the petals of 10,000 rainbow coloured lovelets all throughout the grotto}
p.s. Mother how are you feeling now after your rest?
February 6th, 2010 at 12:11 am
Winnie, I am so glad for you to know that Love is always there for you… what a wonderful thing… and I am feeling better after my rest, thank you so much. I do hope I didn’t bother your writing at all (did I snore?)… May I write up here with you tomorrow? It feels like it is “above the battleground” up here.. or maybe close.
Love you,
Mother
February 6th, 2010 at 12:25 am
Hi winwin : ) going through lots of crap right now, eh? Well, this place is a mad world.
Here’s the song Mad World for you. Originally by Tears for Fears (another awesome ’80’s band :), then redone by Gary Jules, and finally sung here for you by Adam Lambert, sigh…
February 6th, 2010 at 1:00 am
Oh lisa i LOVE this song ! havent heard this version….. i am beginning to wonder if after the happy era of the 60`s and 70`s popular music/artists began to explore dark and sad and maybe that`s why i didnt like it. I didnt want my children to be exposed to anything unhappy, so desperate was i to provide them with a happy childhood… Anyways here is my favourite version from Donnie Darko that my beloved youngest put me on to… we`ve watched it a few times together…
btw big hugs to you darling xoxoxoxoxoxo
Mother i am so glad your rest did you good…. `tis a lovely idea for you to spend some time at the typewriter tomorrow….. i will make sure it`s dusted off and ready with plenty of inked ribbons… xoxoxoxo
February 6th, 2010 at 1:10 am
Winnie and DD: Tomorrow I will be typing out confessions for certain swimming-suit-thieving persons… But first I must confess how loved I felt that you two wanted to protect me from my own vices.. Such sweetness… Love you both..
Now. Since swimming (with Pool Boy) is very good for Mother, will you both please join me in a nice swim to celebrate that I am feeling well enough to go swimming?
Thank you, and I love you,
M.
Marco!!
February 6th, 2010 at 1:53 am
{giggling}
ok last one in`s a rotten egg!… wow the water`s awesome. Good thing we got the pool heated ! and isnt it fun to swim at night with all the fairy lights around…….Marco be a love and grab us a beer hey ?
February 6th, 2010 at 9:45 am
Polo!!
winnie-that’s the Gary Jules version. Great, isn’t it? I haven’t seen Donnie Darko, is it good?
I don’t think all of the ’80’s music was dark and sad, but the stuff I listened to definitely was. I had such a terrible ache and sadness in me that the music was a way to express it. It gave me comfort to know there were others who felt the same way. It was like, if there’s no way out then at least we have each other.
Thank God, we’ve found a way out, huh? Now, we just have to do the work to achieve outness! It’s always something. : )
February 6th, 2010 at 4:44 pm
Darko ! er i mean Marco !
this is fun -- playing in the pool, listening to music, drinkin` beer, discussing movies and ruminatin` about stuff ,{ though i never was a very good multi-tasker tee hee}
I very much like movies that explore the theme of time and i really like Jake Gyllenhaal but mostly i liked watching this movie cause my youngest wanted me to and i could see how he related to the sadness in the character….
Anyhoo do you like this one ? Now that i know i`m thoroughly bad to the bone i really like it !
I remember when i first saw it and how horrified i was ! I was cross with all the pop noisicians who i thought should be being a good example to all the young`uns…. and as for hair stlyes in those days -- I was like “what is the world coming to ???”
oh and speaking of hair { looks around and lowers voice} aint ya just sick of that screamin` sheila in the orange dress over in the Screamatorium… she`s at it every day ! Crikey i have to take ear plugs whenever i pass her… I reckon she should be sent to the asylasorum or at least get someone to do her hair…..
February 7th, 2010 at 2:28 pm
Hey ….where`d everybody go ???? I`s just talking about the picture on the wall for cryin out loud …. and i was trying to be funny ! sheesh !
{climbs out of pool and dries off}
Hmmm ….think i`ll go and make a nice vegetable curry with some coconut milk and kaffir lime leaves freshly picked – {yoinks some off tree} and fresh lemongrass roots and some lightly fried tofu …..MMmmm Mother`s gonna love this….I better not make it too hot just hot enough to scare away any lingering bugs….{♪♪♫sings away while cooking♪♪♫}
Now while that`s doin` it`s thing, i think i`ll pop on over to the auditorium for today`s workshop….
February 7th, 2010 at 2:50 pm
{Sends text-message to Winnie’s phone…} Am in hot-tub. Bad to the Bone was wonderful. Am listening to class. Can’t hear anything. Talk later. Love Mother.
February 7th, 2010 at 3:09 pm
{chortles with delight ! }
February 7th, 2010 at 3:18 pm
I’ll take some hot curry, winnie! I’m having a rough day, and it feels good to sweat it out when you’re feeling crappy.
Thank you for cooking today! : )
February 7th, 2010 at 3:30 pm
a rough day ? here let me give you a gentle shoulder massage … `n how about we paint your toenails after that ? i`ve got some georgeous polish that makes your nails look like they got glitter on them xoxoxoxooxox
February 7th, 2010 at 3:36 pm
Bad To The Bone – I always thought that was a song about Nurses….
February 7th, 2010 at 3:37 pm
can I have that pant that has little mirrors in them? so I can see everything mirrored in my toe-nails…trees…moon I’ll just srtick them out of the window in the roof of the treehouse and catch a star or so…mmm, I never had pedicure, see…this is a first one…wow…I HAVE pretty feet, yes…
oh my, I feel so girly (:::.giggles:::::)
February 7th, 2010 at 3:39 pm
Texy? you ho, up here! come, tell me about the bad nurse you have been!! details, please!
February 7th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
me too ! me too! i was a bad nurse once……back in my nursing school days {didnt finish} At breakfast one day i pinched some peanut butter, took it back to my room, and put it in a plastic bag which i sticky-taped on to my tummy…
Then in class i started groaning a bit and when the tutor looked up, i stood up, pulled open my uniform and declared i had to go and empty my colostomy bag ! {giggles at memory} Hmm now i remember another time when i was working at a small country hospital…We nurses on duty did not like the hoity toity sister so we lured her down to the Morgue on some pretext { which was kinda like a large outhouse} and then locked her in it for a little while !
February 7th, 2010 at 5:57 pm
Ladies – ladies!!
I was merely quoting the lyrics!
I am not now, nor do I ever plan to be
quote unquote bad to the bone.
{clears throat….ahem……}
That’s a cool trick Winwin.
In nursing school, we used to drink Mountain Dew out of specimen cups.
Well, come to think of it, we act a little crazy from time to time.
We also used to take electrode gel and put it on the door handles
so someone would grab it when they opened the door.
They always thought it was snot….I mean mucous!
February 7th, 2010 at 6:38 pm
I knew a DoG once that was Bad to the Bone…
February 7th, 2010 at 7:50 pm
i knew that chick too………. had to sent away to a convent i heard……
{meanwhile down on the ground Pool Boy strains his ears to hear more of Tex`s antics and smiles to himself every time the giggles break out]
February 7th, 2010 at 9:23 pm
phooey phooey phooey ! i have to be away from the Monastery for the next 50 hours….now dont you buggars do anything i wouldnt do….
I`ve looked up the next 2 days of Q&A and copied and pasted them on my laptop { i just wont be able to get online}. I had to do it the old-fashioned way at the facim. Struth i`m glad i dont have to do that no more….. i love you guys ! please take care Mother Darling i will be thinking of you xoxoxooxoxoxo
February 7th, 2010 at 9:27 pm
{{Winnie}} Take us with you in your heart… (I know you will…) All my love to you, =-= Mother
February 7th, 2010 at 11:01 pm
50 hours without you, Winwin !!
That’s a long time. Come back soon (whenever you can – no pressure :)).
Love,
A
ps. Mother dear, you’re always up late :) Glad to hear you’re doing well now. Love you.
February 7th, 2010 at 11:17 pm
Thanks Anil… I love you back. I am on Pacific standard time, so am an hour earlier than is posted here.. (I do stay up late also… but never admit it… and I get up late.. that’s my favorite.) {;-)
Winnie will be gone for two days at her job, and doesn’t have internet there… we’ll be counting the hours, huh?
Love you,
M.
February 7th, 2010 at 11:19 pm
See you soon winnie!
I’ve had a train wreck of a day. At least in my mind I have. Well, actually it spilled out into some e-mail exchanges among the parents in my younger son’s class. This is following a 3 1/2 hour discussion last night on our media policies for our children in our homes. sigh. Like I said, a bit of a train wreck. : )
So, I’m going to sit here by the pool and listen again to some old college music. This is New Order from ‘Power, Corruption, and Lies’. I used to listen to it nearly everyday my second year in college on may way to and from classes. I used to have to carefully place my Walkman headphones so as not to disrupt my sticking straight up in the air punk rock hairdo!
The song is Leave Me Alone, but you can join me if you’d like. I think I’m about to bust out laughing! Life is so silly! : )
On a thousand islands in the sea
I see a thousand people just like me
A hundred unions in the snow
I watch them walking, falling in a row
We live always underground
It’s going to be so quiet in here tonight
A thousand islands in the sea
It’s a shame
And a hundred years ago
A sailor trod this ground I stood upon
Take me away everyone
When it hurts thou
From my head to my toes
From the words in the book
I see a vision that would bring me luck
From my head to my toes
To my teeth, through my nose
You get these words wrong
You get these words wrong
Everytime
You get these words wrong
I just smile
But from my head to my toes
From my knees to my eyes
Everytime I watch the sky
For these last few days leave me alone
But for these last few days leave me alone
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
February 7th, 2010 at 11:27 pm
Hi Anil! Hi Mom!
February 8th, 2010 at 3:53 am
I thought I heard the pool boi say something like
“I’m not laughing AT you. I’m laughing WITH you!”
Trouble is, I wasn’t laughing!
Lisa – train wreck days suck – sorry – hope it gets better soon!
February 8th, 2010 at 7:26 am
Hi Lisa –
Sounds like a tough day. Hope you had a good night’s rest, and that the new day is dawning well for you…:)
February 8th, 2010 at 9:44 am
Oh, Anil, thank you for your kind words.
I’m feeling a bit, well, guilty today for projecting out yet again. Sometimes the setup is really tempting! Lots of stuff coming up for me and seemingly lots of stuff “out there” pushing my buttons. A combination that simply delights the ego. And I fell for it, again!
I think I’ll just spend the day sitting quietly by the pool in the sun reminding myself to be gentle. : )
February 8th, 2010 at 10:15 am
{{{{Lisa}}}
That’s the hardest thing to do isn’t it. Being kind and gentle towards yourself was something I never even thought about. Push yourself, GET IT DONE….DO SOMETHING ….
Those were my mottos.
Think I will join you for awhile by the pool. Oh hey look at this. Someone put a bathing suit over here behind the bench. Looks like MoM’s. I guess she was skinny dipping again. How does she manage to always keep that cigar lit anyway?
Here comes Marco Polo. (sucking in stomach to no avail)
February 8th, 2010 at 11:03 am
hm…

February 8th, 2010 at 11:05 am
hmmmm…
this is the REAL skinny dipping -
February 8th, 2010 at 12:07 pm
Nina, great pics! I seem to recall owning the t-shirt in the first one… and I’m pretty sure I remember hearing a distinct noise of a camera shutter when the 2nd one was taken…
Lisa, I hope you’re having a better day today.. maybe slightly better? A Hot-Wheels wreck instead of a train wreck? I’m sending hugs and love to you…
Ruth-Anne, Me too.. “get it done… do something”… sounds like a tiny mad idea to me, but I’m stuck on it for now…
Love to all,
Mother
February 8th, 2010 at 12:09 pm
Texas, will laugh with you when ready. Have t-shirt. Will wait. =-= M.
February 8th, 2010 at 3:11 pm
Ruth-Anne…you are so cute…(sucking in stomach). :)
February 9th, 2010 at 3:17 am
So THIS is where the party iz at, eh?
Ruth-Anne, Nina, MoM, PoolBoi, Lisa, Anil,
And Gnostic Traveller, Monk etc.
I NEVER have to urge to get anything done.
Glad I don’t suffer from that particular issue.
Or skinny dipping.
L-l-lately, it’s t-t-too c-c-cold, any w-w-ways!
(Just testing the water, eh?)
February 10th, 2010 at 3:16 am
Lisa …wish we could see a pic of your “sticking straight up in the air punk rock hairdo!” I imagined it while i listened to the video …..sending you big hugs xoxoxo
…. oh it`s so nice to be back home here ! hugs to you Anil dear xoxox
{opens a sweet cider and puts feet up in favourite chair by the pool}
Texy dear, I need to know how you pronounce “eh” . In Australia we say “ay” in the same way…. rhymes with “day”
February 10th, 2010 at 4:33 am
Winwin- We Texan slash Canadians (quote unquote)
say “eh” like “day.”
some “true” Texans say “eh” and wrinkle up one side of their nose–
That’s like “EH?” Like they can’t hear what you are saying!
Winwin- are you going to Temecula?
February 10th, 2010 at 7:50 am
Tex, dear friend -
I’m here now finally as a Grotto regular thanks to you, MoM, and so many others…(Lisi, the other day you wrote a post, where you named all of us by name – that was a lot of effort, and many thanks for that – but I’m taking the lazier route ;))
Winnie – hugs to you too, and lovely to see you back, hanging out by the pool.
ps. I had a brief moment this morning where it really felt like Jesus was talking to me in my mind – will write about that another time in the Blue Room perhaps… Ciao for now.
February 10th, 2010 at 11:20 am
Oh!
what a lovely room! [Mother Edit: Nina is referring to the creation of The Class Room] so space-filled…the air is so clear and clean…oh, and cosy sofas…and tables…and those practical little pads that one can write on in ones lap in sofas… and wow, the library…and there’s the videoplayer…the view from the large windows is spectacular – so much skies…I love the lightening tooo…
mmmm…my brain goes into a very comfortable mode: clear, alert…
and look, there on the wall, so many nice caps – one for each, to be decorated exactly as we want…I found mine! NINA with glassbeads in a spiral on the top, and at the center of the spiral, a little golden egg…I put it on…yes, it makes me a much more receptive student! If anyone wants me to decorate a cap just for them, please tell me – here’s so much great material to choose from, and that is work that i really enjoy.
who will be the next student in the door, I wonder?
love and hugs and thanks for this room
Nina
February 10th, 2010 at 11:41 am
Oh yes Nina PLEASE make me one too. I want to be a much more receptive student too! Yes this a wonderful space isn’t it. I love the openness as well.
Our dear head monk thinks of everything doesn’t he?
February 10th, 2010 at 11:51 am
Anil, can’t wait to hear… =-= Love, Mother
February 10th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
I guess Trapped Monk got untrapped – I KNEW he would!!!
Nina, mine is the “dunce” cap. You’ll find it and me on the stool in the corner.
Trapped Monk – once you go to kissing – it’s all warm and fuzzy logic from there on!
February 10th, 2010 at 2:00 pm
oh boy ! can i give the pencils out ? can i can i can i ?
{giggles at the irony of Texy wearing a dunce cap}
Do we get the cane when we are naughty …. that would make class so more interesting
February 10th, 2010 at 2:37 pm
Cap for Ruth-Anne: it is dark bottle-green velvet, embroidered around the sides of the cap/hat with these little ruby-red droplets, just like pomegranate-seeds…and somehow, when she passes someone, by shere magic you’ll hear a faint bell-clinging sound, like lots of little angels, giggling…
(the inside is lined with little yellow chicken-feathers…)
February 10th, 2010 at 2:42 pm
see what a dunce-cap does for learning? those are dangerous beliefs-instillers. May I at least line it with tinfoil for you?
February 10th, 2010 at 3:25 pm
looking forward to hearing about your moment Anil – hugs to you
oh thank God you`ve clarified that for me Texy and how exciting that you say it like we do….. i want to hear it on your next video clip !
i am going to Temecula in March…. I have stuck to my extreme budget { so proud of myself} I`m not looking forward to it and i dont expect to have a good time -{ nothing to do with the workshop}. It`s just that i`ve been overseas once before and i was so distressed i had to cut my trip short and come home whereupon i told my family that i would never go overseas again and was ready to write an oath with my own blood to the effect ! { It was to Hawaii to see Gary Renard}
It was the only time i remember when i couldnt practise forgiveness in any way shape or form. I am confident, i realize now, that i will be able to manage a lot better this time. For a start i wont be trying to drive “on the wrong side of the road” and have to mutter over and over ” okay turning right here ….put indicator up,not down….no no no that`s the windscreen wiper ! – It got to the point where i`d start crying the minute i put the key in……
It was also one of those times when i seemed to be aware of past life goings on. Soon after i set foot on Hawaiian soil, i felt hostility from the natives and very distant memories of Captain Cook { whom i have always loved} kept surfacing in daytime symbols and at night i was awash with gruesome nightmares…. in which i was a terrified cabin-boy …
I became so panic- stricken i just focused on doing whatever it took to get home. As i looked out the plane window and watched Hawaii recede, i could swear the view was not from a plane but from a ship.
footnote : Captain Cook is probably Australia`s most famous explorer. I have always been in awe of how clever he was. He was killed in Hawaii.
February 10th, 2010 at 3:29 pm
{giggles} awesome pic Nina….
I want a cap too pretty please !
February 10th, 2010 at 3:46 pm
Yes Nina – foil is good!
But 2 + 2 = 22!
1 + 2 = 12
3 + 7 = 37
That’s what I’m ta-kin ’bout!
February 10th, 2010 at 3:48 pm
Winnies classrommcap:
lightgreen veils with yellow dots, it looks like playful clouds about her beautiful radiant face – inside these clouds strange beings (very small and colorful, colibri-size)emerge, making their sounds…these sounds are translated by Winnies brain, and are opening the mind for learning. Lining: light sky-blue silk. Embroidered inside at the crownchakra: a tiny red heart. It pulses gently.
Like it?
February 10th, 2010 at 3:55 pm
My goodness Nina – you are a master crafter at this hat thing!
Wonderful!
Maybe mine could be a hollowed-out globe.
Or an Oscar De La Grouch metal trash can top.
Or “dust-bin lid” if ya’ll are not from Texas or America.
February 10th, 2010 at 3:57 pm
love it Ninarina!
Hmmm class is in and it looks like Fun with Numbers is up first …
11 was a racehorse {one-one was a racehorse}
22 was 12 {two-two was one two}
1111 race {one-one won one race}
22112 {two-two won one too}
February 10th, 2010 at 3:58 pm
I know! I know!
(Me -me – oo-oo-pick me please!)
A Mountie Hat!
Good Golly – how could I have ever forgotten my Honorary Canadian Citizenship, eh?
I want Moose Antlers on both sides.
And a Red Serge Thingy to match, please!
February 10th, 2010 at 3:59 pm
Tex,
your math is excellent.Thats the kind of math that helps one to practice the Course of course -- the not serious kind.
The foil is for insulating of course. I am your gal if you want it decorated on the outside, or if you skip the dunce all together.
Or if you just need a hug. Such a good hugger I am.
nattinatti
and here is yet another video with mr Moschen…just to show that true learning is about knowing that the impossible is possible when the love is B I G , like his…for me, his play is just one big prayer of adoration -
February 10th, 2010 at 4:08 pm
Tex, just saw your wish for a Mountie hat with antlers…what is a red Serge-thingy? I think you have excellent ideas for a really great learning hat yourself. For more relaxed learning,I would lean more in the direction of an exquisite embroidered yarmulke, very persian embroidery, green and red and gold and silver-thread… the theme of the embroidery would be from 1001 nights…and it would be lined with black velvet
mazeltov,dear
February 10th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
NUNS, hide your eyes, where was his black leotard?
February 10th, 2010 at 4:42 pm
maybe he was hot with it on, although he`s pretty hot with it not on…yeah baby !
Thank God we`re not in that lifetime where we used to be traditional nuns and got none..

Audrey Hepburn hat.
MoM – you are one classy chick!
My MoM has been in my mind lately, too.
Just hanging out.
February 11th, 2010 at 4:42 am
hi winnie -
hopefully you don’t encouter any “past-life” memories in California. (I make light of it, but fully remember my one-nano-second dream where I “dreamed” I was drowning in the sea off the coast of France (and that fully explained to me why I’m mortally intimidated by/of all things French to this day !! :). Anyway, hope it all goes well for you…
On the potential “blue Room” moment, I’ll have to write some other time – I feel strange referring to Jesus as the “J guy” – it seems disrespectful to address him that way, even in casual writing, but I know that he knows that I have nothing but respect (and “love” (?)) for him…it’s been a bit of a challenge with my Indian upbringing to accept a “personal” relationship with him, but I don’t know how else to describe how he apparently seems to pop into my mind at critical moments, and seems to be speaking to me !! (all very bizzarre to me, even as I write this out).
Anyway, over and out for now, MoM, Winnie, and everyone else here.
Many smiles and happy thoughts for, and to all of you.
Anil

Dear Monk: if this is an inappropriate place [the Class Room] for fun or hats, please let me know. I can mail them to people, or post them at my gallery.
[Mother Edit: Nina, Monk has moved all of our cap making here to the Grotto - create away!!! Smooches, Mother. P.S. Have I asked for one yet?]
Mother: I have noticed that orders for special hats do not come through – they come from a space where there must be no rules or wishes, it seems. So if you are OK with anything else that just comes, just tell me
Michele: your hat is made of a very exquisite fire-material: completely etheric, it moves around your head as lava, with glowing specks of white white glowing white…the lining is deep skyblue (etheric) silk with golden stars – I know you are able to “wear” these deep contrasts -
deep love to you all
February 11th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
Hi Anil i think its lovely and must be very comforting that Jesus pops into your head and speaks to you.
“Many smiles and happy thoughts” to you my friend…
February 12th, 2010 at 7:17 am
Nina, we need our learning hats to wear in our classrooms. They are things of beauty and fun and great to wear out of the classroom too. I wore mine all day yesterday! I love you so much.I love y’all so much,eh.
MoM, I know exactly what you mean about the workbook. The first time for me was beautiful and wondrous. I really didn’t get it. I think I skipped over the scary bits and really didn’t search my mind like Jesus tells us we need to do.
I have quit doing it already this year because of total resistance. Is that indulging my ego? Maybe. I don’t know.
I know that I do ask for help in undoing my belief in separation. And help to “see” as Jesus does. And help for escape from this murderous thought system. (Ninjanun I totally relate to your thoughts.)
Oh God……… Get me in that time machine.
No, get me out of it.
February 12th, 2010 at 4:13 pm
AL – Jamie’s learning hat/cap is the one he mostly is wearing – see Bonnies gallery: the dark blue one – it is obviously doing a great job for him, don’t you think -
for you, dear: a hat made of Marigolds who never wilts, and at certain times when the New Zealand SUn is very strong, delicate white clouds rise up from within the Marigolds and a light cleansing rain(Mercy) trickles down on the flowers and Al’ hot head…inside, thin delicate green silk, with an embroidered band all around the opening: It is safe to let go now. I rest in God.
And you look completely stunning with it.
February 12th, 2010 at 5:32 pm
Nina a hat for me please. :)
February 12th, 2010 at 6:29 pm
Jimacim, Happy birthday! Took the liberty of guessing that you are a carrot cake with extra walnuts and thick cream cheese frosting kinda guy.
February 12th, 2010 at 7:05 pm

February 12th, 2010 at 7:40 pm

February 12th, 2010 at 9:35 pm

February 12th, 2010 at 10:21 pm

February 13th, 2010 at 6:41 am
Hi all pumkins…Happy Valentine Day!!!
here’s an image my brother Ola just sent me for the day: I LOVE the LOVE in it. Just bathing in it.
Taking it REAL easy today, had a hard night, but feel OK and very grateful now for all the tools I have for hard nights.
February 13th, 2010 at 7:33 am
Hat for Pam:
This looks intriguing to me..it’s like made from greyish delicate velvet, and there is a whole miniature landscape growing on it – Druidish… yes, there it is: a cave…and there’s an excquisite tiny dragon coming out of it, spewing perfect fire…it does this at various time of the day, and when it is out, your learning will be exeptional mydear – now I see details in the grey velvet, olive-green and black, with little orange specks of dragonfire…
and can you feel the salty winds?
February 13th, 2010 at 7:38 am
Lisa, here’s yours:
it is blue blue blue blue BLUE
the color of Mary’s Cape
formed as a cone…Mary is sitting on top of it, her cape is flowing downwards and is draped around your head…bright golden tricklets of light streams down from her seat, swirling around the brim
it gives peace and a clear mind
February 13th, 2010 at 10:07 am
LISA. the hat in nr [393] is for you and not Pam- sorry :-)
[Mother Superior Edit: Fixed for you Nina]
February 13th, 2010 at 10:41 am
Oh thank you Nina it is perfect. Yes I can feel the salty winds as I stand by the dragons cave at the top of the cliff overlooking the sea. It is a bright and clear day. The soft silvery grey colour is one of my favorites. And the dragon is so cute all steelblue with emerald green edgeings. So cool that I can see myself reflected in the hat’s landscape. {{{hugs}}}
February 13th, 2010 at 11:44 am
Thanks for the laughs Lisa ! Nina i LOVE the hats you are designing, you sweetie -pie xoxoxo
February 13th, 2010 at 12:07 pm

That means we get to celebrate everything for TWO DAYS!!!
Thinking of love throughout for everyone, I give you my heart.

Mother
February 13th, 2010 at 12:09 pm

February 13th, 2010 at 7:32 pm
Oh boy thats right we do get to double dip all the holidays. Yeah! So here’s several red velvet heart shaped cakes decorated with small frosting roses for all my favorite Valentine monklings. More mead please.
February 14th, 2010 at 3:01 pm
Anil – would you know anything about Lawrence’s absence? I miss him so, and always worry when dear monklings seem to disappear without telling us about it -?
February 14th, 2010 at 3:12 pm
OK, here’s a love song for Valentine’s Day. It’s one of my favorites.
Throw Your Arms Around Me, by Hunters and Collectors
I will come for you at nighttime
I will raise you from your sleep
I will kiss you in four places
As I go running along your street
I will squeeze the life out of you
You will make me laugh and make me cry
And we will never forget it
You will make me call your name
And I’ll shout it to the blue summer sky
And we may never meet again
So shed your skin and let’s get started
And you will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me
I dreamed of you at nighttime
And I watched you in your sleep
I met you in high places
I touched your head and touched your feet
So if you disappear out of view
You know I will never say goodbye
And though I try to forget it
You will make me call your name
And I’ll shout it to the blue summer sky…
And we may never meet again…
So shed your skin and let’s get started
And you will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me
Oh…yeah…
Ohhh yeah…
You will throw your arms around me…
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me….
February 15th, 2010 at 6:27 am
Hi Nina -
You read my mind – I’ve been thinking of Lawrence a lot these last few weeks. I miss him too…
ps. MoM, your Valentine’s message was so lovely. You are truly a beam of love and light. Happy Valentines Week to all !!
February 15th, 2010 at 10:53 am
this is a test
February 15th, 2010 at 10:54 am
YAY
February 15th, 2010 at 11:13 am
Oh my GAWD, I am so glad to be back in the Grotto!!!!!!
It has been weeks since I have been able to post here and I tried again today and BRAVO it WORKED.
First things first. TexAnne, the pool is heated so it is just getting there that is the problem, specially if you plan on skinny dipping. (and who doesn’t)
Ok and the pommies are still so plentiful and beautiful. I have activated Nina’s copper automatic pomegranite peeling device and there will be PLENTY of pomegranite juice and seeds for everyone to drink and nibble on. They are SO FULL of antioxidants and vitamins that it is especially good for those who need an immune system boost.(and who doesn’t)
I have the other copper machine fired up, thanks for your help on that WinWin. And to the small monks for making it look so beautiful when I walked in, wow those guys never stop do they? It will be just a matter of hours before we have some. 0;-)
I am going to the kitchen to bake a huge cake for everyone’s birthday we might have missed in the shape of a big heart to represent our monastery and everyone in it.
{{{{hugs}}}}
February 15th, 2010 at 12:14 pm
☼☼Ruth-Anne☼☼ It is always such a pleasure to see you. Yummmm, can’t wait for the cake. Is it chocolate? Hugs, DD.
February 15th, 2010 at 12:18 pm
{{{{DonnaD}}}}Of course it is chocolate.(YOU mean there is another kind?)
With lots and lots and extra icing for Winnie to be able to have as much as she wants.
February 15th, 2010 at 12:28 pm
Oh your’e HOME!!! Now I can really breathe again. Chocolate cake with no regrets, and that special pomegranate juice…just read an ad in a Norwgian magazine for health-food: one bottle of special P-juice: 60 bucks, please…
I like yours better. And I particularly love that nothing is fattening or tooth-decaying here.
February 15th, 2010 at 12:42 pm
{giggling} oh boy Ruthie-pooh .. what a yummy cake ! and as i`m tucking in i`m quietly rocking to Lisa`s song and really feeling those arms being thrown around me and behind it all i hear Jesus saying “I will come for you at nighttime
I will raise you from your sleep”
Ahh…. this is the life ! {reclines in favourite deck chair}
February 15th, 2010 at 4:05 pm
Oh i love days like these ! mine just to potter about and do whatever i fancy, a bit of writing, a spot of sewing, wash the odd dish or two { i never do `em all in one go – laughs evilly}
{ climbs out of deck chair and puts some Baroque music on the record player}
uh-oh i think Nina is ready to go Natti-natti…..{goes off to tuck her in and pop an extra blanky on toes}…
February 15th, 2010 at 9:15 pm
Ruth-Anne, I’m so glad you were able to find your way here again… we are bereft without your cakes and liqueurs! Spent the day here in the grotto pool, skin all pruney (that’s my current excuse) and I’m ready for FOOD. Thanks. Also wondering, what comes after pomegranates when they’re done… La distillere is pumping away. Love that thing.

February 16th, 2010 at 8:10 am
Web Side Story
funny-not funny
Hope it works, eh?
February 16th, 2010 at 8:30 am
Hmmm. What a bunch of great ideas. Pear is kinda sounding good and we can pick them right off the trees in the grotto too. In France they put the very young pears inside bottles and let them grow inside the bottles on the tree. Then they make a pear liquer with the whole big pear inside the bottle. Very cool to look at.
Pineapple, papaya, passionfruit. MoM, you always feel how I am thinking. I lived in Hawaii on the island of Kauai and have been thinking about moving back there. I spoke with my friend there a couple of nights ago and Adriana of the Water and I are bouncing the idea around…… We’ll see.

Texas- very funny! ‘I just found a site called pandora.’ and ‘I can’t wait to read about myself on your blog.’ Very funny!
February 16th, 2010 at 9:38 am
Ruthie, Hawaii and you – mmm.A bit warmer and not so hectic, I think. As long as you come here to hang out!
big smiles and hugs
February 16th, 2010 at 10:35 am
that video will be a classic just like West Side Story!
February 16th, 2010 at 10:53 am
Hmmm – If Ruth-Anne is thinking about moving to Hawaii, I’m just wondering about the size and shape of her luggage…… it’s always about me….
February 16th, 2010 at 12:09 pm

February 17th, 2010 at 8:46 am
hey guys, where is everybody? TexAnneCan? LaAnnie? I so want to share these – I recognize myself and our common journey – anybody seen the whole series maybe?
February 17th, 2010 at 12:30 pm
Yes, this is a great place for giving out learning-hats. Mother, you just asked for one: well…the main form is the pillbox-form. It is in black and white, strangely adorned with chinese calligraphic symbols, don’t know which ones (the answer may come in a dream for you) it is silk and velvet, with tiny shiny blackred beads – grenades, I think – and there is a big surprise inbuilt: when you least expect it, these things that the court jesters wear – let me see if i find an image:
and your learning cap, m’dear, is completely innocentlooking and elegant and Audrey’ish – but at the slightest provocation or impulse ( you never know which) these “branches” will separate from the top and open like a flower. And on the inside they are red, yellow, deep bottle-green, violet and blue – and from their pointed end, little silver-symbols are attached:
a miniture grand piano
a heart
a white feather
a book
and a martini-glass
February 17th, 2010 at 12:45 pm
Oh, NIna, what a delightful hat you have made for me!! It is one I will have so much fun wearing… I can appear all sophisticated-like (thank you) until the hat explodes with my TRUE identity… a piano, a heart, a white feather, a book and a martini glass. I love that it will constantly surprise me… kind of like me. I never know what I might do next… ;) Love you so much and thank you for this gift.
Love,
Mother
February 17th, 2010 at 4:09 pm
Nina i adore your wonderful imagination ! What splendid caps you have made for us…
About the Northern Exposure videos… i have watched the 3 you put up but they are not doing anything for me at the moment, but I notice it takes me a little while to “get” stuff sometimes… I had to watch The Simpsons for about 7 months before i “got” it….. did i mention that i`m only very little …
February 17th, 2010 at 8:22 pm
When I came back from Operation Desert Storm, so many years ago, I waited in line to use the phone to call my Mother.
It was in the days before cell phones, eh?
So I called her, after many months of overseas deployment.
She said “That’s nice, dear…..”
(what the hey?…)
Then a long pause…..then she said…..
“Honey, can you call back after Northern Exposure?”
February 17th, 2010 at 9:35 pm
Tex -
I don’t know whether to laugh for the wit and style with which you tell this story, or to feel sad that a television show (no matter how good) can place above a personal relationship ?
I’m sure that would have stung me quite a bit, if my parents had said something like that to me… (and now that I think about it my father has said some strange things to me (but I guess I’ve said lots of things to him too)
oh well. Be well, and best wishes,
a
February 17th, 2010 at 11:51 pm
Nina and Anil, Ruth-Anne and other monklings, I do apologize for not giving a heads up in my not posting whispers. I mention this not because I think I am someone special, but because most know of my health problems of one sort or another. So, it wasn’t right to have someone think something might be wrong. I was humbled by the sharing in the infirmary last night by all the monklings one to another, such love. As for my health I am still juggling some things. And, some days I will let that upset me, but most the time not, just like the good people, here at the Monastery of the Mists.
Today while paging through a book from 1913, I read the following “Lucy bowed her head and prayed–for how long she never could tell–as she had never in her life prayed before, not agonizing, but calmly “knowing” that everything was in the hands of a God of Love.” For me it always comes back to that no matter what seems to be going on at the time. Now does that mean I act accordingly, of course not, but I am working on it. But still in the end I know it is so, a God of Love, and that makes all the difference.
Oh yes, and Al, I missed you girl and am glad you are back. Sunshine is always welcome don’t you know!
February 18th, 2010 at 12:25 am
{giggles at Texy`s #436]
Lawrence i just love you dear fellow and wish you the warmest of wishes for your health.
Bless you
February 18th, 2010 at 1:35 am
anyone up for tacos ? i only make the vegetarian variety having 2 kids who are strict vegetarians, but they are really yummy …. anyhoo i`ve made enough for everyone……
I wish i was more normal sometimes and not such a goddamn kook but then i read somewhere that everybody feels like that and from a Course perspective it doesnt really matter -it`s all part of the ego`s bag of tricks…
I`m grateful to see that i am becoming more quiet. My friends dont know how passionate i am about the Course, now that i have learned not to talk about it and i dont really want them to know. I just want to learn to be more normal, and i really think i am getting there and then someone or other will refer to me quite casually as “eccentric” and i`m like “what the?” I am so normal !
Today was such a good day in terms of seeing how quickly i can deal with intense pain. I barely need to suffer at all. I came back from doing a spot of shopping a little while ago and everyone seemed to look like Ken. It was weird and wonderful and i felt so connected with all and everything was just Love.
Whenever i have an ego attack, it`s not the actual attack that presents the most pain but the aftershocks that come in waves to say i did/said a bad bad thing and it can never be undone.
But these waves are diminishing and when they roll in, i see them for what they are and they just roll on out with ever decreasing strength.
p.s. Tex i really enjoyed so much your West Side Story video
big fat loving hugs to all!
February 18th, 2010 at 3:01 am
Laughing at #436 – that’s what you get for ditching God eh? coming in second after tv in important-details-in-mum’s-mind. Ouch .. i’m with anil – it must’ve hurt a bit. Were you nursing in the army Tex – or soldiering?
February 18th, 2010 at 6:43 am
Al – I was Nurse in the Army…which makes me a a nurse AND a soldier!
I look back at that story now and I am glad she found something that she liked that gave her so much pleasure.
“ego attack” is a good way of putting it, Winnie
February 18th, 2010 at 10:39 am
A soldier-nurse-nunny.Wow you have been around TexAnneCan. I just want to hug you…and was you mom a bit old(read VERY old) when she said that?
Winnie, that last video when the airplanes come again and again and kill Joel…that are Maggies/ego’s killer-wishes ( in the series all her former boyfriends have died… 5 I think…and at the end Joel tries to tell her that he has not really left her – they’re not separated, like the mushrooms are seemingly separated on the ground, but united under the earth… I don’t really know why, but it seems so important for me to explain this

Whiney: I feel so unhappy, almost unconsolable. Oh woe is me ! I am such an extremist! I was doing so well at practicing forgiveness but today and through the night I lost it and I am so sad.
Bugsy : You do not deserve to be happy.
Whiney : But I think everyone deserves happiness
Bugsy : everyone except you
Whiney : I feel like I am off the charts arrogant
Bugsy : You are so far up yourself you`ve turned into a jug handle
Whiney : I know. You`re right.. It`s true but that`s were i`m at, at the moment .Isnt that forgivable?
Bugsy : Don’t even try to go there
Whiney : i`m so full of myself aren’t I ?
Bugsy : yeah you`re stuffed
Whiney : but even if I am entirely arrogant, am I not deserving of Love same as everybody else
Jesus :
Bugsy :You are a complete and utter phoney
Whiney. You are right I am… and what you say is true
BUgsy Hell yeah i`m right.
Bugsy :You are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under the table
Whiney; I feel like I am very bad at my deepest core and feel very guilty.
Bugsy : well you should know
Whiney; I know full well that I have nothing to say but I still want to express myself
Bugsy : No one gives a stuff about what you have to say and its all crap anyway
Whiney : Yes I know the form of my written expression is nothing more than crap but isn’t it an excellent medium by which to bring the content of my crap to the fore…in particular my deepest terror of being unacceptable?
I am trying to learn that it doesn’t matter what I say God will always love me.
Jesus :
Bugsy. How about you get dressed up and lets go out for a bit. You`re getting all worked up… there there … Let`s just go the movies and forget all about this nonsense.
Whiney. Hey, wait a minute …I vaguely remember there being a blue circle around here somewhere…………..
February 18th, 2010 at 4:36 pm
Winnie, loved it! letting it hang all out lol. And Jesus always said the perfect thing. Just to the point. I loved how you did that.
February 18th, 2010 at 9:46 pm
Dearest WinWin;
Thanks (doesn’t quite capture the depth of the feeling, but it’s the only word I’ve got :) for writing about your Bugsy experiences.
Arrogant or not, I care not..
I love you lots,
Anil

Pssst… guys…. it’s Pam’s birthday tomorrow the 19th… what do we have ready for celebrations? Cake? Decorations? Food? Drink? Dancing? We got a disc jockey someplace around here? I brought the small monks to help us get ready. Ruth-Anne has surely left some great stuff in the freezer… and maybe she’ll be off work tomorrow. I brought 100 balloons.. tough to keep my feet on the ground on the way here. Thank gawd for small monks…
Love,
Mother
February 18th, 2010 at 10:39 pm
Thank you my darling Nina, Anil and Mother…you guys are all so wonderful to put up with me…….. love and gratitude always xoxox
…………………..
Now about Pam`s birthday…..what sort of cake ? hmmmm i`m thinking a blow-away sponge, so light and fluffy, sandwiched with pure and voluptuous King Island cream and fresh organically – grown glazed strawberries on top….
I know Cory will want to lick the beaters so i`ll be sure to tell the small monks not to wash them………..
Wow Mother you brought helium balloons!… the Grotto looks wonderful. I`ve got some fairy lights to string up on the trees …. I hope Ruth-Anne brings some delicious fruity wine……
February 19th, 2010 at 2:56 am
Winwin – that Bugsy thing – he talks to me that way, too.
The fatty blogs call him “The Crazy Brain.”
Here I guess he’s just the ego.
When you tell on him, he tends to go away.
Once we know it’s him, we can just wave him off.
You are a talented writer, Winwin!

Nina, my dear old Mother was 40 when I was born…so she was 72ish….
When I try to calculate my own age some times, my Mother used to start the count from the time I was conceived.
So while I’m 49 right now, she would make it an even 50.
She once said it started when she first knew me…..not my birthday per se but how old I actually am!
February 19th, 2010 at 4:14 am

You got it, lyrics,
Every time I look into your lovely eyes,
I see a love that money just can’t buy.
One look from you, I drift away.
I pray that you are here to stay.
Anything you want, you got it.
Anything you need, you got it.
Anything at all, you got it.
Baby!
Every time I hold you I begin to understand,
Everything about you tells me I’m your man.
I live my life to be with you.
No one can do the things you do.
Anything you want, you got it.
Anything you need, you got it.
Anything at all, you got it.
Baby!
Anything you want
Anything you need
Anything at all
I’m glad to give my love to you.
I know you feel the way I do.
Anything you want, you got it.
Anything you need, you got it.
Anything at all, you got it.
Baby!
Anything you want, you got it
Anything you need, you got it
Anything at all, you got it

Happy Birthday Pam!!!
Here’s your day according to the birthday book:
February 19- The Day of the Explorer
The tough and determined individuals born on Feb 19 must fearlessly explore their environment and ultimately follow their inquisitive instincts to far-off worlds. Most born on this day generally overcome their childhood sensitivities early and develop quickly into solid individuals capable of handling the stresses of everyday life. Altough they can show an interest in mystical realms, Feb 19 people are usually practical enough to keep their feet on the ground and simply observe.
Feb 19 people like to break new ground with their efforts. Giving their own personal stamp to ideas and activities appeals to them greatly. Their drive toward success is quite healthy and vital. They must, however, beware of growing insensitive or callous from years of overcoming resistance or knocking down barriers. Preserving their inner sensitivity is crucial, and indeed possible, but only when they allow it into their profession, making it part of what they do and who they are.
Although Feb 19 people do best on their own, they also make good team players ans a good measure of their success is due to perceptiveness and awareness of those who are working with them, particularly in the area of sizing up strengths and weaknesses, and recognizing potential. Feb 19 people often have marked leadership abilities, though they rarely desire to be in charge.
Ultimately, Feb 19 people need to go off and do their own thing. Most often their goals are not those of society at all, but pertain to self-development and matters of honor. When these impulsive, spontaneous people hear the call thay cannot but follow it. Because they are so often driven to be reckless, they must avoid self-destructive activities. Alhtough we are all prone to be our own worst enemy from time to time, those born on this day are more prone than most.
Meditation- ‘It has been said that, “Discretion is the better part of valor”‘
Strengths- daring, imaginative, forceful. Weaknesses- rash, hardened, uncontrolled.
You share a birthday with- Nicholas Copernicus(astronomer), Sven Hedin(explorer, writer of The Silk Road), Smokey Robinson(Singer).

Happy Birthday, Pam! I made it back just in time to wish you a great day on your B-Day. Make the most of it, dear. Much love, Bernard
February 19th, 2010 at 10:57 am
Ruth-Anne asked me to post this, as she was not able to get into the Grotto this morning…
Ruth-Anne says:
Happy Birthday Pam!!! There are goodies in the fridge including lots of lean protein and veggies and cheese. The small monks and I are putting up the new batch of pomegranite juice and pomegranite liquer and pomegranite wine as we speak. Take your pick. So full of healing and Love, it is.
(Sometimes channelling Yoda, I do. Must be all the time I am spending with the small monks)
And I am going to make you and Cory a big fat juicy steak dinner with grilled zuccini and brocolli and roasted red pepper. It looks like Laura has the cake covered and Mom is doing the decorating.
OH NO! Looks like Brother SmallnHelpful tried to carry too many balloons at once.
(runs over and pulls his feet back down to the ground only losing a couple of balloons)
This place is so beautiful today right now. Pam and Cory you are such a beloved part of this monastery. Happy happy birthday.
Oh and congrats to Jamie and Bonnie and Dreamy!!!
YAY I am back to work now.

Pam “Happy “B” Day It sounds like you had a nice birthday here in the Grotto. I forget who has the book on horoscopes, I think maybe Lisa? But not sure. Anyway, having a few can’t hurt, they are fun. I baked a spice cake with chocolate icing, it is my favorite. I hope you like It, I feel sure Cory will. Peace & Health is my wish for you, and hey Bernard was here as well today!
If Today is Your Birthday: January 19
——————————————————————————–
The Year Ahead
Forecast for January 2010 to January 2011
If You Were Born Today, January 19: You have a fabulous sense of humor, your own unique sense of style, and powerful emotions. Success-oriented, when you are able to focus on specific goals it would be hard to steer you from the path towards them. You are personally powerful and have a strong presence or aura, and others tend to follow your lead. You can be very stubborn at times! You are also very hard working, caring, and kind to those you love. Although you don’t easily let down your guard, once you do trust you are very protective. Famous people born today: Edgar Allen Poe, Paul Cezanne, Janis Joplin, Dolly Parton, Robert Palmer.
Your Birthday Year Forecast: With the Sun and Moon in a waxing semi-square at the time of your birthday this year, the period ahead is one of new initiatives and action. You possess quite a bit of energy, but you must be aware that emotions color much of what you do this year. It can be hard to be objective as a result.
The Sun conjunct Venus in your Solar Return chart places a strong emphasis on your social relationships, love, romance, and pleasure this year. These matters are tied to your ego and pride. You more readily and naturally employ charm this year, and you are generally quite likable and easygoing during this period of your life.
Both Jupiter and Uranus sextile your Sun this year, and this is a very nice combination. You may lose your fear of taking risks on a social level, happily embracing all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary this year. Exciting (not jarring) changes and new interests characterize the period ahead. It’s easier than ever to express your unique individuality, and if this involves changing careers or jobs, a new love affair, or an entirely new hobby, it’s something that takes you forward into unexplored territory. You are more willing to adapt to new circumstances, ideas, and unfamiliar situations this year. You are able to find creative solutions to problems now. Your personality is sparkling this year, which is sure to attract new circumstances and people into your life. You tend to take things in stride, so that you don’t as easily sweat the small stuff. A generally positive and optimistic attitude is sure to attract some pleasant new experiences and circumstances into your life this year.
Mercury conjunct Pluto and square Saturn suggests that you are likely to gain some perhaps profound new insights into your life this year. You can be especially persuasive and convincing in your communications, whether written or oral, and your perceptions are especially acute. You are inclined to do a lot of “digging”, researching, analyzing, investigating, and getting to the bottom of things. Increased psychological awareness of yourself and others can benefit you greatly, and employing strategy in your decision making is easier than usual this year. Try to avoid coming on too strong with your opinions. You are hungry for deeper meaning, but a suspicious attitude, or making mountains out of molehills, won’t serve you well. Mercury governs speech, and you will need to watch what and how you communicate. Something you write or say could lead to opposition from others. Your need to investigate and read between the lines is strong this year. It’s best used for research and increased awareness of psychological motivations, both of others and yourself. Some difficulties and delays with communications are likely. Your thoughts are quite sober at times, and you should do your best to avoid negative thinking. It’s a strong year for recognizing flaws and errors. As long as you don’t forget the “big picture”, you could find you are motivated to channel your mental energy into tasks that require structured and organized thought, tackling projects that you may have found too mundane or downright boring in other years. It’s a strong year for polishing your skills and formal learning.
With Venus trine Saturn in your Solar Return chart, certain elements of your social life and financial life are stabilized, secured, and more reliable this year. You may solidify a romantic relationship under this influence, or become involved with a mature partner. Circumstances may be such that you need to handle money more carefully this year, or this may simply come naturally to you now. Support from older people or authority figures may come by way of solid advice or more tangible help. Renewed ties to old friends are possible, or a new sense of responsibility in existing friendships, are also highly likely.
Saturn is square to Pluto in your Solar Return chart. This suggests a need for you to come to terms with your own powers of authority and your effectiveness. Power struggles, frustration, and manipulation are possible themes this year. You may desire change, but feel blocked by others or by circumstances. Alternatively, you may be attempting to resist change that is inevitable. Persistence will pay off in the end, and the need to adjust your expectations becomes obvious.
A more sociable year than usual is ahead of you, perhaps at times at the expense of work and responsibilities! Others are appreciating you for your unique individuality, and you are certainly more open to new experiences. Openness to change is a valuable asset this year. Major restructuring of your life will help you to clear your head and to get your priorities straight. Romance is mature, and finances are mostly stable.
2010 is a Number Five year for you. Ruled by Mercury. This is a year of exploration and freedom. It’s a time when exploration and reaching out to others brings opportunities. It’s a good time to advertise and sell. Surprises are in store, and the routine is broken. This is a year when exciting relationships can be formed, or, if you are already in a partnership, new life is breathed into the relationship. Advice – explore, look for adventure, keep your eyes open for opportunities, mingle.
2011 will be a Number Six year for you. Ruled by Venus. This is a year of relative contentment. It is a time when love is the easiest to attract, and partnerships formed under this vibration have a better chance for longevity. You are able to attract others, and material things as well, this year. This is a good year for establishing harmony in the family and in the home. Advice – develop existing relationships, be positive and receptive because these kinds of energies help you to attract what you desire.
God bless us every one

{{{Leni}}} The mighty companions are with you.
February 20th, 2010 at 10:07 am
Once again thanks everyone. The lines that stood out for me in Lisas b-day book are “Most often their goals are not those of society at all, but pertain to self-development and matters of honor.” and in Lawernces horoscope “You are hungery for deeper meaning, but a suspicious attitude, or making mountians out of molehills, won’t serve you well.”
Finding deeper meaning is not the goal of society at large now is it. But even from childhood I have been looking for it and now I have found it, a real way home.

Seems like things haven’t changed too much here in the Grotto over the past month or so. Just as well! I just made my way up to the treehouse (my, you girls have been busy!) just to find the remains of Pam’s party. Grabbed the last piece of cake someone had stowed in a fishnet stocking hanging from a branch. (okay, fess up, who’s missing their fishnet underhosen? Is someone not wearing their scanties around here?) Winnie, that wasn’t a unicorn. I saw brother smallandhelpful trying a sock on his head. Would someone please explain to the poor dear exactly where he’s supposed to put it? Don’t look at me. Don’t know nuthin about no sock-wearin’. TexAnn, we need to tawk. It’s good to be back! Hugs to all.
February 21st, 2010 at 8:57 am
Hey Bernard, I knew if I ‘Hid’ the cake there you would be sure to find it. ::giggle::
February 21st, 2010 at 9:51 am
Winnie,
Thank you for the butterfly hug and for holding me in your heart. You are thought of lovingly as well. I am so taken by your process you so lovingly share with us. I am seeing the emergence of a beautiful butterfly struggling out of its cocoon. That’s exactly the reason why this monastery is my home (for now). Love is so palpable. Kindness, compassion, hilarity, hugs and kisses abound. Beauty is everywhere. Great food and drink anytime. Artistry, poetry, music you name it. But most of all there’s Monk, Bonnie, Dreamy,Mom and the beautiful monklings all working and helping each other towards getting to an even undefinable heaven of a home.
February 21st, 2010 at 12:09 pm
Bernard, that was just Brother Tuck’s sock…you know how huge he is, so it might just fit the head of the small monks…(looking around) I am not supposed to say this of course, but I know there has been a secret fellowship forming in the halls at night – “The Brotherhood of The Socks”. let’s pretend we don’t know, and just see what they’re up to. (I wonder if Ruth-Anne is in on it, though – I often see them sneak into the kitchen at night(my time) when I am sleeping over in the Tree-House…)
February 21st, 2010 at 11:58 pm
Winnie, no need to thank me for holding your drink the other night. It was no problem atall. Truth be told I drank it, and then got a refill. Kaitlyn and I are well, I had a talk with her about not feeding the beast within. We both accept the role of victim to easily.
Anil was right I wandered into another room and posted a horoscope for ninjanun, for her “B” day. The only problem was I gave her the horoscope for January 16 instead of February 16, I fixed it and Ma was good enough to make the wrong post disappear. I didn’t know she got magical powers with her new job, cool. I think the drinks I had were pretty potent. I walked over to another room, and I heard some spooky talking. Then next thing I know someone yells out “hey you, we got a sock we want you to try on” I didn’t like the way that sounded so I got out of there. I think Nina is on to something!
Peace & Posters Luv

this place is so much fun ! I`m glad you and Kaitlyn are well Lawrence … big hugs to you !
February 22nd, 2010 at 1:31 am
Hi Lawrence, I guess the magical powers came with the new cigars Head Monk gave me Feb 16th… or was it the new robes… he says they “swish”. I think they have a little magic in them so I can help out more here in the Cloister… with stuff. Like deleting things people want deleted, fixing pictures, moving whispers around, passing out food, drinks, tickets to Cowboy games (well maybe not that), and other assorted sundry…. I’ve tapped and I’ve swished but I can’t figure out how to do “sundry”… Hmphfff. {Goes off to check the cigar box, maybe the directions are in the bottom…}

Monk you know him best just let us know what we are missing….like what’s his favorite cake?
February 22nd, 2010 at 8:53 am
Happy Birthday, Ken!
I just wanted to see how Ken would be here if he chose to – and (fasten your seat-belts) I saw him as coming in drag! I saw him enjoying the look on our faces – and there he is, in my mind, smiling a little wry smile, and picking up my special hat for him on this occasion:
It is a pill-box shape – deep rubyred velvet with a little twinge of violet in it – and a light tulle-veil being draped over the cap – he looks gorgeous – and he has a fur-boa around his neck (he inherited it from a grand-aunt..) and the hat has a surprise: when the festivitas is at it’s height, Ken takes off the hat, blows affectionately on it and it turns into this wonderful birthday-cake: now strewn with wild strawberries, and he invites us all to pick, and as we do that
Ken puts the hat on Jamie, and now the hat transforms…into what, — you’ll just have to wait and see…

Happy Birthday Ken!!!
February 22- The Day of Universality
Those born on Feb 22 tend to dissolve their ego away in the service of meaningful cause. Their personal world may be an intricate and complex one, their emotions profoundly sensitive, yet they do not allow this to be their principle concern, and rather turn their spotlight out on the world, illuminating worthy ideals and goals.
Feb 22 people generally believe in the greatest good for the greatest number. Not infrequently, they find themselves supporting or leading the cause of their clan, organization, community, even country. Lovers of universal freedom, high idealists, they wish that all enjoy the blessings of a good life, without threat of tyranny or oppression.
Feb 22 people have a strict sense of duty and can be rather stern. Despite the fact that they can appear open to a variety of experience, their likes and dislikes are pronounced, even fixed. In addition, they will pull no punches when making their displeasure known to their partner.
Those born on this day are frequently critical of their society, adopting a revolutionary or avant-garde stance. Because of their capacity to put their personal desire aside, Feb 22 people are capable of making magnetic leaders who instill great loyalty in their followers. Should the need arise to call for assistance or support, they will be able to demand great work from colleagues, family, and friends since the purity of their motives is rarely in doubt.
Meditation- ‘In some obscure corner of the world, the Ideal and the Real have consummated a secret marriage.’
Strengths-unselfish, idealistic, dedicated. Weaknesses- unforgiving, pessimistic, overcritical.
Ken shares a birthday with- George Washington(president), Frederic Chopin(composer), Sparky Anderson(baseball manager, only to win World Series both leagues)
February 22nd, 2010 at 11:41 am
This may be the dorkiest song ever, but….
I say dorky because I am not a big fan of mushy, sentimental songs. However, this song just works. And Ken is a bit dorky himself. And I mean that in the kindest way. It’s a quality in him that is truly endearing, and makes him approachable and easy to love.
Happy Birthday, Ken!
February 22nd, 2010 at 11:43 am
For Al : )
You Light Up My Life
So many nights I sit by my window
Waiting for someone to sing me his song
So many dreams I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark but now
You’ve come along
You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song
Rollin’ at sea, adrift on the water
Could it be finally I’m turning for home?
Finally, a chance to say hey,
I love You
Never again to be all alone
You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song
You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song
It can’t be wrong
When it feels so right
‘Cause You
You light up my life

Happy “B”Day Ken, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for “Absence from Felicity”. And now a word from our sponsor:
If You Were Born Today, February 22: While sensitive and concerned with others’ welfare, you are not afraid to be different. In fact, many of you feel a “calling” early in life, or feel special or different. This can lead you on an unusual path, but always a very expressive one. Your ideas are unique and creative, and you feel compelled to share them! In fact, you can be very persuasive and intriguing. Many of the choices you make in life are altruistic ones. Famous people born today: George Washington, Ted Kennedy, Drew Barrymore, Steve Irwin, Sybil Leek.

Dear dear Ken —
Bestest and Happiest birthday wishes to you! I am so thankful for what you have chosen to do for us. Your devotion to keep teaching patiently and redundantly as long as we come to ask the same questions over and over. Yet, you answer again and again with loving humor and ingenious insight into each person’s analytically disguised wail. You are such a blatant bodhisatva, and our paths are blessed with light by your willingness to help. And thank you for caring so carefully for our monk, since he carries your light for when you decide to kick back and sail to Bora Bora. Please, please, please stay – just a little bit longer …

MoM, I spied on one of the small monks…he went into the kitchen and first he sneaked something good-looking food from the cupboard, then he went behind the stairs into a closet and disappeared. When I looked into it, it was empty…clearly a very clever hidden entrance into their meeting place…I guess it would be wise to check with Ruth-Anne if some likker has been missing lately – and to ask Brother Tuck to look after his socks (they use them as caps you know)
you know, I will cleverly find a way to bring this up with the monks next time we have choir-practising time. I’ll just drop a hint and see what will happen…(SOO much totake care of here in the Grotto, sigh)

Psst, hey Nina! Over here in the Grotto. I figured we could talk here by the pool.
An INFJ is a personality type. It’s calculated by the Meyers- Briggs personality test. I actually don’t know a whole lot about it, but a colleague of mine had me do the test once and I repeated it online recently after kailin mentioned it.
There’s a short version (72 questions) and a much longer, more comprehensive version. It was put together by Carl Jung and Isabel Meyers-Briggs.
Anyway, I’ve always wondered why I seem so different from everyone else and when I saw that my personality type is only 1%, I had to laugh!
I hope that helps!
March 1st, 2010 at 9:47 am
Hey i caught Nina loitering around other ACIM forums, just thought i had best report her. Busted.. sniff, what is that smell ?
March 1st, 2010 at 9:50 am
:::big chuckles::: I have an old form that was filled out years ago and I suspect hasn’t changed any. It is… wait for it… INFJ. Very interesting. Hugs, DD.
March 1st, 2010 at 10:06 am
Hey punkey : ), the smell is winnie’s famous mocha. Look up in the Treehouse. Care for one?
DonnaD- I’m tellin’ ya, I think all the INFJ’s are right here at the Monastery!
March 1st, 2010 at 1:01 pm
I`ve never heard of INFJ but in “Take me to Truth”, a book recommended by Gary Renard, they talk about taking an “Enneagram” test…maybe it`s much the same…..

I am definitely going to be in discussion with Pool Boy, LaAnnie and others about selling t-shirts to Course students… and maybe other-path students… “Shifts happen”… Winnie, whadda ya think? We got enough small monks to make a t-shirt factory? How big is this Grotto property anyway… we’ll need a distribution center {goes off with pencil and notepad making notes…} :::laughs evilly:::: Maybe it could say “Shifts happen at acimmonk.com”… “Why does shifts always happen to me?”… “No shifts!”… “I don’t give a shift”… maybe not…
March 2nd, 2010 at 1:25 am
yeah but maybe they shouldnt be t-shirts but more appropriately shifts … remember when we used to wear shifts ? …mind you i never liked `em…too plain for me … i love frills and puffed sleeves ……………..still…{sigh}

{Licks chocolate bun sticky off face..} Good shot, Nina! My favorite! Got any with raspberry? {Throws one back} Lisa’s serving popcorn.. I’m in for some if it’s got LOADS of butter on it. And did Punky drink all the mocha? I’m finding that after all this shifting I’m a bit hungry.
March 2nd, 2010 at 11:23 pm
Extra butter, Mom, you got it! Are shifts like moo moos, Mother?
March 2nd, 2010 at 11:39 pm
Thanks for the lots-a-butter, Lisa. Shifts come in all shapes and sizes. Shifts occur in all colors and enhancements. I found this one for $375.00 – that’s a lot of money for one little shift!!
March 2nd, 2010 at 11:44 pm
You mean all you have to do is buy one? : )
(Oh, if only it were that easy!)
March 2nd, 2010 at 11:51 pm
My further investigation reveals that the common denominator of all shifts is their inherent lack of a defined waistline… and they tend to have a closer to the body silhouette than say moo moo’s. However, the fashion police I questioned hesitated to draw any more specifics than that, hating to put shifts in too small of a category. The classic example of a shift might be a “little black dress”.. Audrey Hepburn wore tons of them, and Twiggy too.
I think moo moos are shifts that happen to cows. The things you step on in a farm field. Or cow epiphanies/instants. Something like that. Gotta check with my Iowa buddies on that one…
March 3rd, 2010 at 1:17 am
This is very helpful. Now I know what “shifts’ and “moo-moos” are :)

Hmm now let me see….{ checks Official Grotto Guidelines for Holding Parties, Orgies and Picnics}
March 4th, 2010 at 5:05 pm
Had to hurry over to the Grotto to continue on the”but” conversation cuz I’m getting a bit off topic ( I am fully aware this is how I do denial) anyhow, Winnie I know you watch the “Family Guy” and your last line “work o fart” in todays Q&A reminds me of the creation scene where god cuts one and then lites a match hence explaining the big bang and all its gases or I should say galaxies that float off in full rotation ever expanding. Have you seen that one? Hilarious! and yeah there are a lot of buts in the course. I’ll be seeing double tt’s for a while till I can shift back to right brain. So win win is it true you are coming to Temecula? I keep jumping from room to room and can’t track down the full scoop. Can you update one more time here in Grotto? 9 more sleeps is sounding so exciting to me too. We can start the party in the grotto, Anil — a bon voyage, and then we’ll continue on arrival and kick it up again when we watch Winnie kissing Ken’s feet and being thrown in the pool…get your swim suits everyone the pools heated!

March 5th, 2010 at 1:11 pm
Mother, the only question i had for Ken was could i please take him and Gloria out for dinner which i asked by way of writing him a proper letter. I didnt think i had much chance but it was worth a try.
He wrote me back such a lovely letter explaining how he had more meal invitations that he could manage and that he was very sorry.
I was so excited when i got the letter, i just savoured the moment. I took the letter over to my son. He lives in the next row of avocado trees in a donga {relocatable workmans hut}.
It was like i was holding the winning lotto ticket.
When i opened it, i read one sentence at a time covering the others so i could just prolong the savouringness…My youngest was very amused.
He mentions my name four times {happy sigh}.
It was just like the time i wrote to the queen when i was 12 and got a reply from her lady-in-waiting.
Here is the poem i wrote her -> {for your amusement}
O`er us all she does reign
Young at heart and much to gain
She is wise to every crime
To all her subjects she is prime.
The world has never known such grace
For the wisest queen in our race.
The road heartwards has no moat
To every person i can quote.
{goes off to pack fairy dresses and plenty of thermal underwear} Struth the minimum temperature in Temecula right now is 10 degrees colder than the minimum in the middle of winter over here…
p.s. looking forward to seeing your picture soon Anil xoxox
March 5th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Hee Hee Nina I had that same vision pop into my head :) Might need to sign up for one of the Learning Centers crash courses (paparazzi 101) before heading East. I’m open Sunday the 14th for a Leisurely drive; could even pick you up at the Airport Winnie if your not worried about getting into a Toyota Prius.
March 5th, 2010 at 10:55 pm
Winnie -
Nice reading your post on Ken’s letter to you. Look forward to hearing of your Temecula adventures in future posts (but no worries, i’m not expecting any class notes :). (I think I’m all “meta-physics-drained”). just your stories of travel and adventure).
Bye for now,

At Lisa`s funeral today i sang Dantes Prayer in a flowy white dress complete with long satin pink hooded cape. I held a bunch of white lilies and baby`s breath and gave them to her mother when i finished.
This is the first time i`ve posted a photo so i hope it works. This one was taken about 5 weeks ago. Lisa is the one in green closest to the tree. She always liked to get her friends, the Goddesses of Earthly Delights she called them, to pose in some interesting way.
March 6th, 2010 at 7:30 am
What a lovely way to remember Dr. Lisa and her Goddess presence. Thanks for sharing your day and posting the pic.
Hugs, Annie
March 6th, 2010 at 10:16 am
Beautiful lady Dr. Lisa was. Thanks for sharing.
March 6th, 2010 at 10:38 am
In her own way, at her own level of understanding Dr. Lisa was definintely a grotto kinda’ girl. Thanks Winnie.
Like Anil am looking forward to you telling about your Temecula trip.
March 6th, 2010 at 11:44 am
You`re right ♥Pam♥! Lisa was a grotto kinda gal.. :)
Nina would have been proud of me for “dressing up” for the funeral, a token of having the fun she wanted me to have.
My eldest son`s girlfriend, a musician, played the guitar for me, which sounded so sweet and lovely, and although i`m no Loreena McKennit, i put my heart and soul into it and seemed to pull it off, although my heart was pounding with nervousness until time came for me to sing.
♪♫♫When the dark wood fell before me, and all the paths were overgrown♪♫♫
That song represents the Monastery to me and while i was singing i almost could see all the monklings moving invisibly amongst the sad throng {in chocolate brown robes} offering comfort and hope.
“♪♫ Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears, we`ll rise above these earthly cares♪♫”
Her father, a physicist, during his eulogy declared his belief that there is absolutely nothing beyond this mortal life and was inconsolable.
“♪♫lift this mortal veil of fear♪♫”.
Sister Emma was unable to make it. Her mother said she was “particularly devastated”…..”♪♫ Though we share this humble path alone, how fragile is the heart♪♫”
Sister Amy Rose was there. She was a beautiful young model until two years ago when she developed severe drug-induced schizophrenia. She needs constant care and supervision because she regularly tries to take her life…”♪♫ When the dark nights seem endless Please remember me♪♫”
How ironic, one daughter who tried desperately to hold on to life and another hell-bent on leaving it…… and yet they are both just opposite sides of the same coin.
love to blue-butterflying Leni and Annie and Anil and all xoxoxoox
p.s. try saying out loud -> and Annie and Anil and all tee hee it`s a tongue-twister :}

For fun in the grotto I am going to try to post my first Utube video.
Hope it works. These singers are from the town I live in. Love you guys.
