Whispers in the Cloister
The final major building block of ‘the rebuild’ was completed this evening. The new “Recent Whispers in the Cloister” page is home to the last 400 whispers. To get to this page just click the “Whispers in the Cloister” title in the footer at the bottom of the main page.
Our “Around the Text in 100 Days” journey will now have daily posts so people can whisper about what was read that day. This will also prevent the amount of whispers from becoming overwhelming by the end of the 100 days (had there only been one post for discussion).
A new ‘admin’ was added to ‘Monastery Admins’ in the sidebar box. You might recognize him.
I have deleted my personal ‘monk’ email address. I tried to set it up with an auto-responder, but it didn’t quite work, so I will post the message here for anyone sending email to that address:
Dear Kind Emailer,
As you may know, I am living in the mountains at the moment.
This is an important time for me to spend a lot of time with myself and my inner process, and it is important for me to take advantage of being here.
Though the messages I receive are exceptionally kind, friendly, and deeply appreciated, I do not have the time to answer the volume of emails that I receive on a daily basis. I wish I could, because a lot of people mean a lot to me, but unfortunately my email situation has become untenable. I have decided to essentially withdraw from email as a form of personal communication, preferring instead to communicate in-person, or by phone/Skype. I hope you can understand this decision, while knowing that you are important to me and I want to hear from you and stay in contact. I also look forward to keeping in touch with you via your whispers in the Cloister.
I still need to pay rent and eat, so I am definitely still working. If you would like to schedule a phone, Skype or email session with me, please do it through Emm-Admin. Her email is: monastery AT acimmonk DOT com. (She also handles all Oratory questions as well.)
This email auto-responder will remain in operation for the next few weeks, after which time this email address will be permanently deleted.
I hope to see you in-person or hear from you via phone/Skype soon, otherwise I will see you in the cloister!
